Electricity from Thar coal soon: Mand

Mand has said that project of producing 100MW electricity from Thar coal will be started soon.



Talking to the media during his visit to Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Member of Planning Commission Dr Samar Mubarak Mand said that government’s system of procurement was very poor and the procedure creates hurdle for those who wanted to work honestly.



He stated that power crisis causing losses of billions of rupees and about 400,000 people had lost their jobs. He created awareness among the traders about steps to overcome energy crisis.

Pakistan needs to accelerate all energy producing projects so we can get the unemployed back to work. Also illegal connections in Pakistan also need crack down because it results in a huge loss of revenue to the power companies and the average honest consumers. Energy crisis needs to be dealt with now on an emergency basis. Zardari and PPP Government are incompetent and things are moving but slow.
