I do not think Russian missiles are useless against other adversaries just because it’s range is a bit less. In modern air combat no one can hope to land a hit at the maximum range of a missile as the kinetic energy at max range is less. The kill probability increases as the enemy gets closer.

So in an effective combat range, the Russian missiles can be a threat which cannot be ignored.

Replacing Russian with Israeli, Indian and US systems is being done for the last 2 decades, so nothing to be surprised.

PAF did manage to block the Su 30s from reaching the strike package, which left the venerable Mig 21s to handle the situation.

you are expecting certified jahils to raise questions ? that requires logical thinking. Instead, they tried to twist the story to their masses who, out of habit accepted the gormints explanation as if politicians and professionals under the thumb of politicians are honest.
These mofos ignored that fact that the mig21 that was taken out had all its missiles accounted for as not having been fired. They never shared any gun camera footage, no back/forth radio communication between the palut and the operations control room, any actual plane debris or even a tail number.

No Missiles rarely kill on maximum range but they can certainly put you out of the fight for some valuable time.
