Really surprised to see the low voting percentage in Mumbai. After seeing the protests and the various vigils after 26/11 people were expecting very high voter turnout.

Sob, no one in mumbai cares about 26/11 for them now its old news this is how ppls (not all ppls) cope up here. Politiciens and some famous ppls take this issue to add more stars in thier Popularity thats it. Just think there was so mouch Advertisement going on, but whats the percentage we get 45% , this is crap.

So this give a clear picture that now a days ppls donr even care of which government is ruling, the only thing what matter is will it benifit us. Even in villages, the polotical parties pays the ppls to vote in favour of them. And these dum ppls do so.

This is the harsh reality, whether you accpte it or not, its true.

Thats so true buddy..... but low voter turn out had something to do with 4 day off back to back too good to resist i guess.... probably EC should have given it a Thought.. but then many first time voter's like me choose to vote rather party; probably our generation will make a decision this time....
Cash for votes was indeed endorsed by Congress and NCP; congress men were caught with Rs.17 lakh at samta nagar- kandivali and NCP men with 2.5 lakh in shivaji nagar..... rather disappointing deed by responsible parties

amtiabh's picture is photoshopped....but anyhow i am really intrested in seeing ADVANI,MODI,VARUN GANDI,THACKREY....how well do they perform in elections.... wonder if advani can even stand for elections given he has babri masjid case against him....can someone please tell me how in indian electinos a person is elegible to stand for elections....

From criminal record perspective, if you have been actually convicted in a crime, you can not contest election. If there are any cases pending, but not proven yet, you can. Advani, modi etc just have cases against them, no court has convicted them yet.

Personally, this does not make sense to me. The rules have to be re-written. If a person has 2 more more grave cases against them, they should be barred until they are acquitted. Given the slowness of Indian Judicial system, some cases run for years and criminals end up contesting elections.
