Egypt officially reveals uranium production for the first time..

I remember in 2017 when you and I and Saif Al Arab were talking about the uranium finds in both countries, Saudi Arabia and Egypt in similar, desert mountainous terrain. This has always been somewhat regretful that with all the recent discoveries in natural resources between this uranium and all the gas fields that there must be trillions of gallons of oil buried in all the very difficult areas to reach and pump it out. How that could've drastically changed the course of this country's history of the past 100 years.

Considering Sisi got into power with US support, how long you think the US is going to allow him to keep pivoting to Russia and China?

He's an expert at this kind of thing. His diplomacy has been one of his greatest attributes. He'll figure out how to get the maximum.

I just saw that this morning and was blown away at how many rows of those huge pipes and how much of a distance they'll be traveling to bring Nile water and irrigate lands several kilometers away...and be sure there are no failure points! lol, tremendous.

@Gomig-21 @The SC he said that "we do not have the capacity to mount ARM (so the suppresion of enemy's air defense) on the Rafales, we do it with SPECTRA"

Yes thanks bro I did. That was an enjoyable vid on the Gusts. Although I do think it's probably a little too premature for this fella to assume that the only way to conduct effective SEAD missions and be able to precisely target the radars themselves is with ONLY anti-radiation missiles like ARMs. Using ARMs is probably easier, I think precision/GPS or even laser guided munitions are probably just as effective.

Better to have that on top of SPECTRA's EW capabilities. I know that is one of Rafale's incredible successes. especially demonstrating that capability in Libya and Syria. That means the rear guy on the DM Rafales has his hands full, just like it ought to be. Makes me think how important all that sensor fusion software that fighter has if it's gone up against F-22 and even F-35s with very decent results.

This video is made in a very professional way!

I like it. Doing good inside own country is praising God. Also the more there is green/plants, the more the micro climate and later the regional climate will change, more rain, more groundwater is hold by the plants ect. - and if we all in the world manage to get more CO2 into the air, then plants would grow even better.

Implementation of three wind farms with investments of $25 billion in Egypt to produce 25 gigawatts..

On the path of development corridor | Sohag is preparing to host three giant wind farms on the Western Desert Road, with investments exceeding $25 billion, due to the privilege of Upper Egypt with the largest wind speed at the international level, especially the regions west of Sohag and west of Minya.

The new farms, with a production capacity of 25 gigawatts, represent 40% of Egypt's electricity production and 400% of Africa's wind energy production.

1- The first farm: It is being implemented by the Emirati company, "Masdar", with a capacity of 10 gigawatts, with investments of 10 billion dollars. It is expected to start implementation next year, and its implementation period will take 6 years.

2- The second farm: It is being implemented by the Saudi company, "Aqua Power", with a capacity of 10 gigawatts, with investments of $10 billion.

3- The third farm: It is being implemented by the Norwegian company "Scatec", with a capacity of 5 gigawatts, with investments of $5.6 billion.

It is worth noting that Egypt has three wind farms with a production capacity of 1.3 gigawatts, making it the second largest country in Africa in producing electricity from wind after South Africa: the Gabal El-Zeit farm with a capacity of 580 megawatts (the largest in Africa) - the Zaafarana wind farm with a capacity of 545 megawatts - a wind farm Gulf of Suez with a capacity of 250 megawatts, as well as a series of other farms being implemented on the shores of the Red Sea with a capacity of more than 3 gigawatts.

Egypt seeks to reduce dependence on hydrocarbons for electricity generation and to raise the share of renewable resources (winds and sun) from 20% to 45% over the next ten years.

* There are also giant projects for the production of green hydrogen and green ammonia, estimated at more than 100 billion dollars. Egypt is planned to become one of the top 10 producing countries for future fuels, in addition to the need to reduce dependence on gas in power generation and use, to provide it for petrochemical and fertilizer factories, and to maximize its export revenue.

** Egypt is also building 4 civilian nuclear reactors to produce 5,000 megawatts of electricity at the Dabaa plant, and there is a plan for more stations in the same area.

Dr. Amgad El-Wakeel, Chairman of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority in Egypt, announced today (2023-08-19), Saturday, the completion of pouring the foundations of the nuclear island building for the first reactor with a capacity of 1,400 megawatts.

Al-Youm Al-Sabea website quoted Al-Wakil as saying that the core trap of the first reactor is expected to be installed on the sixth of next October.

Al-Wakil pointed out that the visit of representatives of the Nuclear and Radiological Control Authority and VO-Safety experts comes as part of the necessary regulatory procedures to obtain a permit to start construction work for the fourth nuclear unit. This visit witnessed the review of the approved design documents necessary to start the implementation of the works, and to ensure their compliance with all regulatory requirements.

The Egyptian official stressed that the success of the inspection visit is the culmination of the efforts of the work teams affiliated with the Nuclear Power Plants Authority, and as a result of the accumulation of experiences and lessons learned from previous inspection visits to the first, second and third nuclear units, indicating that this was the result of continuous cooperation and effective communication between the Nuclear Power Plants Authority and and the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority.

It is scheduled that the first foundations for the fourth nuclear unit will be poured next November, after obtaining the construction permit from the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority.
