The Egyptian government has appealed against a court ruling that designated Hamas a terrorist organisation.

The Cairo Appeal Court for Urgent Matters on Wednesday said it would hear an appeal by the Egyptian State Lawsuits Authority against a lower court’s ruling that designated the Palestinian Islamist group a terrorist organisation.

The court will hear the appeal on 28 March.

In late February, the Cairo Court for Urgent Matters ruled Hamas a terrorist organisation, a month after the group's military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, was also designated a terror group by the same court.

The verdict resulted from two separate private lawsuits filed by lawyers Samir Sabry and Ashraf Said.

Hamas has praised the decision of the Egyptian government to appeal against the ruling.

“This decision proves that the verdict in February was a huge mistake,” Sami Abu Zuhri, the official Hamas spokesperson, said on Wednesday.

Abu Zuhri added that the movement hoped the appeal would correct the "mistake" and improve Egyptian-Palestinian relations.

But because Israel demanded from coup government in Egypt that it wants Egypt to play mediator role in future Israeli attack on Gaza(because it gets all advantages). Therefore Hamas shouldn't comment on this decision and refuse to accept Egypt as mediator for any future conflict unless both political and military wing removed from coup terror list.

You are talking as if the egyptain court ruled that hamas isn't a terrorist organisation.and If this shows something it shows that the egyptain government isnt controlling judges.
Also egyptains aren't the one benefitin from playing the mediator role in anyway. the only one wHo really benefit from peace are normal gazans who die and become homeless in thousands every time hamas decide to fire few rockets into isreal which causes minor damage to Israel

Wrong, Egyptian court originally stated lawyers can't pass such cases. They changed their mind the day Erdogan and Salman discussed increasing ties and had visit to Saudi Arabia. Which shows government influenced action. Some Arabs may believe Saudi Arabia wanted this. Although reality is Netanyahu wanted it because he wants Egypt to mediate. Because the government in Egypt is well know stooge of Israel.

Israel wanted this because following elections there will be prisoner swap. And with Sisi regime, he will try as much as possible in benefiting Israel if they bribe him. Israel won't make major swaps over bodies. It will only make major swaps to get captured soldiers back. If you believe Egypt has nothing to gain, why does it insist it had to be mediator in any political situation regarding Gaza rather than Turkey or Qatar? You answered your question yourself, Egyptian regime is doing everything in its hands to weaken the Palestinian resistance and strengthen Israel. It would gain much more of it did opposite. It would help its security, tourism industry. If Gaza had no weapons and was occupied, Israel could take Sinai in less than one hour. Gaza is first line of defense for Egypt.
