An Egyptian warplane was spotted over Syrian airspace Sunday night, regional observers said.
According to Twitter user @ElintNews, an Egyptian Hercules C-130H has reportedly flown over central Syria.

The reason for this overflight by the Egyptian Air Force is still unknown at present; however, it is likely that the flight was coordinated with Syrian and Russian forces.
While it is probably rare for an Egyptian fighter plane to fly over Syria, this has happened before.
In 2016, Egyptian military advisers traveled to Syria to meet their Russian counterparts; they would fly to Hmeymim Airport in the southwestern part of Latakia State.
