I don't think Egypt has any reason to lock horns with Israel
Might see a 40,000-50,000 Coalition troop to administer Palestine Security as it is independent state but other then that Egypt has no real reason to kick start conflict
A possibility it could happen for permanent fix otherwise just don't see a tactical reason for Egypt to disrupt it's economic gains
Absolutely agree, we have no reason to fight Israel (or anyone else for that matter). I don't even think Egypt (the government, and to a lesser extent, the populace) still views israel as an enemy. The cold hard facts on the ground are:
1- Our true enemy right now is the radical islamist vermin. don't believe me? just ask yourself how many egyptian citizens were killed over the last 40 years by Israel and compare it to the casualties of a single terrorist attack.
2- We have so much to lose economically if we go to an all-out shooting war with anyone, tourism, investments, infrastructure, gas reserves in the eastern Mediterranean. all will be threatened by a military conflict. I just saw on the news that our currency reserves have been successfully restored to their pre-2011 levels. why would we waste all that progress on a pointless war for the sake of some phoney cause like Arabism or Islam or Palestine or any other meaningless crap. No More.
3-Egypt has far more to gain in cooperating with israel economically, militarily, technologically. We're already cooperating with them on counter-terrorism efforts in Sinai. Why stop there? once the roach extermination efforts are successful we should actually step up our cooperation with them.
Honestly, 40 years of cold, suspicious peace is more than enough. Whatever we did to each other in the past can't possibly be worse than what europeans did to each other in 2 world wars. It's about time to think about our mutual interests.
