Egypt to receive FREMM frigate on 23 June

I believe there will be another ECM system on the Egyptian fremm ....
Some talks about scorpion 2 system of Thales ...and ESM system still active on Tahya Masr.

I'd hope that your very logical assumption is right.
We talked about it with Kamal in cross posting on the Egyptian Forces thread.

Indeed Scorpion 2 would be a natural complement to the ESM ( Vigile ).
And the reason why the FREMM sold to Morocco without the Sigen ECM kit is partly
that the Herakles radar can do some of that by itself.

I'm still interested in and looking for the reason Elettronica has restrictions on its sales though.
My only lead remains that maybe they use ITAR covered components.
Do share please if you get advanced infos on the whole thing?

Tahya Masr Frigate is mainly required for ASW and 4 Gowind corvettes also ASW mainly.
For air defence Fremm Freda can make umbrella over ASW fleet.
Also may be the upgrade with SF-500 in 2018 for Tahya Masr will make it able to oberate Aster-30 ..!!!

Besides, the design allows for later addition of ECM as we said.
