Hezbollah confirms sending drone into Israeli airspace

Hezbollah Secretary-General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah confirms the Lebanese resistance movement has sent a drone deep into the Israeli airspace evading radar systems.

The operation code-named Hussein Ayub saw Hezbollah’s drone fly hundreds of kilometers into the Israeli airspace and getting very close to Dimona nuclear plant without being detected by advanced Israeli and US radars, Nasrallah said during a televised speech late on Thursday.

Hezbollah secretary-general stated that Hezbollah’s drones are made in Iran but assembled by the resistance movement.

Hezbollah plans to send more drones over Israel in the future, he added, adding that the operation shows the resistance movement is ready to defend Lebanon.

The resistance leader further dismissed Western accusations of Hezbollah's intervention in the Syrian unrest, describing the allegation as "sheer lie."

"Hezbollah has not fought alongside Syrian forces.... It is not true that Hezbollah is going to take some land from Syria," Nasrallah stated.

Hezbollah's leader also rejected allegations that Abu Abbas was the movement's commander in Syria, and condemned insurgents in Syria for threatening Lebanon.

"Threatening Hezbollah is of no use," he emphasized.

Great move by resistant and another humiliation for the Zionists. Long live Hezbollah.

Why do you regard this as a great victory? Sending the equivalent of a toy plane into airspace full of real aircraft can hardly be seen as some great victory.

I accept that it may have been embarrassing if this was happening on a regular basis but the Israeli military isn't that incompetent!

Its hardly a "great victory", but no doubt a solid progress in drones tech., and it also showed Israel's radars arent that great, SAMs are useless, and even when F-16's used the most advanced panther missile in IDF inventory... it missed, had to shoot a 2nd time.

Also remember this drone was on reconnaissance mission, what if it would have been armed? It flew over sensitive and even critical installations.

Its not the first time Hezbollah used Iranian drones in Israel, it did a couple of times before (that we know of).

Arm a smal drone with what? I doubt about the drone capebality to fly deep in israil and gain intel. It didnt go behind the border max 5km and yet hizbusshaitan think they are victoriuos.

I think they wanted Israel to use a $100,000 Air to air missle. Thus bleed Israel financially.

It was tracked by radar through all over the way. Thats why Israel knew its Hezbollah drone immediately (despite it entered from Gaza). It was not shot down before because of the danger to the ground.

No its not most advanced missile. Its Python 4, with regular IR seeker. So it has problem to lock on toy plane. But we also have more modern Python 5 with thermal seeker, which can destroy that toy with ease.

Also remember this drone was on reconnaissance mission,.
it was a tiny useless toy, it did not make any recon.

First of all Iran does not produce armed drones (spare me of Karar joke).
Secondly, It did not flew over any critical installations.
Thirdly armed drone costs millions, it large and easy to shoot down. Much cheaper and efficient to fire a rocket.

Each time it was shot down with ease.

Overall its a desperate attempt of Hezbollah to distract attention from slaughter in Syria, where Hezbollah operatives are killed. They just provided a free training for IDF.

It seems Salafi Wahabis are more angered from this incident than Israel.I am seeing them on this thread and other ones regarding it.Good to see Hezbollah burns som people's arses.:azn:

Drones are easy target, even country like pakistan can shoot it down (The PAF has categorically told that It can bring down US drones in seconds if Govt gives the permission.). Israel Air force is far more capable (More than 300 4th and 4++ gen planes).

Its not at all difficult to bring down drones.

@Topic: Iran should start frndship with Israel, There is no reason to keep alive the enmity. If Iran is doing it for Islam, then Iran is fool. All powerful Islamic country (except Iran, even Pakistan is secret ally of Isarel) is with Israel, Its time for Iran to befreind Israel.

If it evaded radar systems it wouldn't have been shot down would it?

Thats a leap of judgement :) It was reported some soldier saw the drone and let his superiors know, who send F-16's after it, since Israel's SAMs cant do the job.

There are mixed news about this incident, and for argument sake lets assume Israel's radars did noticed the drone, how come they allowed drone to fly hundreds of km., near the critical installations? Doesnt make any sense.

Agreed , they claimed they downed it in the middle of their territory , just for a second imagine it had been an armed drone what would have happened then ?
