MIRANSHAH: A fresh drone strike killed five people in North Waziristan on Friday, Express News reported.

Two missiles were fired on a house in Danda Darpakhel Miranshah, causing a fiery explosion that took several lives.

Casualties are expected to rise further.

This is the second drone attack in two days, after Thursday’s strike killed three people in Miranshah bazaar.

The attack comes against the backdrop of a political scenario rife with fresh tensions and controversies over the Pakistani state’s role in these US attacks.

Hours after Thursday’s drone attack, an agitated Imran Khan had stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would put a stop to NATO supplies if a drone attack is conducted during the Taliban peace talks.

A day earlier, US Congressman Alan Grayson had said that if Pakistan wanted, drone strikes “could end tomorrow”, indicating that the strikes could not occur without Pakistan’s approval.

Let's see if PTI really stops the NATO supply routes or just blows hot air as usual.

I am on right of drone attacks. As you know how much extremist are there in Balochistan. They should all be killed by either Pakistan army or drone attacks. You don't know what bad situation they have mad in that place.

what makes you think drones kill 'extremists'?
there isn't any exact number anyone knows as to how many people in general drones have killed,
no body knows who the guys dying,actually were..terrorists or some poor innocents that got killed and labelled in media as 'suspected militants'
P.S drones don't come to baluchistan region they target only in FATA

As per news, Hakeem-ullah Masoud, his second, his security guard and other leader is being killed. If it is true then TTP is leaderless now.

Without Hakeem-ullah Masoud this news looks like against Pakistan's stance.. otherwise, again it's good news but now it can be more difficult to contain militants..

A drone strike targeting a vehicle used by Pakistani Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud has killed five people, intelligence sources say.

Four missiles were fired on the vehicle in the Dande Darpa Khel area of North Waziristan. Two of Mehsud's bodyguards were reportedly among the dead.

Mehsud has a $5m FBI bounty on his head and is thought to be responsible for the deaths of thousands of people.

Pakistan's PM Nawaz Sharif has urged US President Obama to halt drone strikes.

The attacks by unmanned US aircraft have been a critical source of tension in the relationship between the countries and came up amid wide-ranging talks between the two leaders in Washington last week.

They are also deeply unpopular with the Pakistani public, and Pakistan has consistently stated that they violate its sovereignty.

Last week an American newspaper said it had obtained secret US documents revealing that senior Pakistani government officials have for years known of and endorsed CIA drone strikes.
