PESHAWAR: A US drone strike targeting a vehicle killed four militants in Pakistan’s tribal belt on Tuesday, local officials said, the second such operation since the killing of Osama bin Laden.

A security official said the drones fired two missiles into South Waziristan.

Another official said the missiles fell near Angoor Adda village.

“Two missiles were fired on a vehicle at about 4:15 pm (1115 GMT) and four militants were killed,” the official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

The identity of the militants was not immediately known.

On Monday, hundreds of Taliban rallied in Wana, the main town of South Waziristan, vowing to avenge bin Laden’s death after US Navy SEALs shot him dead last week in the Pakistani town of Abbottabad near Islamabad.

OBL raid in the daring operation by Seals has really raised the expectations. Now the small and mid level taliban being despatched is not exactly big news. Drones will always anyway be there but major steps against fight in terrorism for Pakistan and US and the other world will be when more HVTs are scratched in operations. Somewhere there was news that ISI is keenly going after Mullah Omar in Quetta. That will be commendable. Well done ISI!

But in the interim, even these baby steps from drones are also positive news.

If we look onto official figures of the drone stuck people, only a percentage are militants and others are a lll
Innocent civilians. As the article says, they have to identify the bodies, they were suspected militants, not militants. No accuracy here so could be civilians like most of the time.

Civilians did get killed in Drone Attack. But look the things back once again, If some of this militants don't get killed than they would probably come out as bomber and will blow himself in karachi, lahore or peshwar and kill 18 innocent people. Just my two cents.

This pic is so photoshopped. Most pictures that are posted in such news is always meant to convey emotions in the article, whether or not it is related. Whenevever there's a fresh case, the bodies are displayed individually.

Why are you doing propaganda needlessly? Drone strikes cover large diameters which unfortunately engulfs innocents as well who are unwilling victims. There are AQ and Taliban around that region that is why drone strikes are done in selective areas. If US intent was to murder simple civilians, they could as well send 3 dozen drones to the nearest bordering city, bomb indiscriminately and leave.

So please... think a few times before posting such PS pictures from some other scenarios.

It has nothing to do with terrorists.. IF allegedly they can undertake an operation to kill OBL in the heart of our country, then why not take such actions against other terrorists?? why does it has to kill innocent civilians for "suspected" terrorists.. not even confirmed terrorists.. its "suspected"..

No one in the world knows how many truly innocent "civilians" have been killed in drone strikes (as compared to "guilty" terrorists). In the aftermath, the sites of the strikes are almost always controlled by the terrorists themselves. Not even the fabulous ISI can go and sort out the innocent from the guilty. What emerges in the Pakistani press is spin and jihadi propaganda, not truth. So, I say only a tiny percentage of drone strike victims have been innocent civilians. The jihadi-sympathizers here on this forum cannot prove me wrong. The drone strikes are merely one tangible form of Allah's retribution against miscreants.

So you mean to say that USA has killed 35000 "terrorists"???... btw, in Foreign media, NO ONE says terrorists are killed.. they say "suspected" terrorists are killed..

If a person is caught in a murder case, do you "hang him till death" before even proving if he was the murderer??

I have no idea where your 35K number comes from. The total number killed in drone strikes is only a few thousand. I am saying if someone dies in a drone strike, that is Allah's will. Allah knows who among the killed are innocent and who are guilty. Allah will send the person to the correct place.

Why is that idea so weird to you? What is more important saving innocent civilian life or saving some false pride of sovereignty. Looks like your army sold out the lives of innocent civilians when they approved these drone strikes.

Army doesn't want to deal with these talibans themselves cause they want to keep their "strategic assets", they don't want NATO forces to pursue these terrorists into Pakistani territory, so whats the easy way out, allow the drone attacks.

I am sorry but are you blaming Allah (naoozobillah) for all the killing of innocent civilians in drone attacks??.. and for your information there were 4500 civilian deaths in 2010 only.. and they have been going on for years and years..

If we take your logic, then whoever died in 9/11 was also Allah's will and he knows who to send where, what is the correct place for them.. why then WoT???
