Mumbai, India -- DRDO Unveils secret weapon in a move that was widely acclaimed in Indian military and political circles. Known as Bangen Gari Mk.1, it will be used as a floating bridge in times of inconvenience on the battlefield where mobility is compromised, as well as a self sufficient vending machine for tasty eggplant snacks.

whats funny ? it is Amphibious Floating Bridge and Ferry System (AFFS), intended for transporting heavy armour, troops and engineering equipment across large and deep water obstacles. The 10 m x 3.6 m x 4 m vehicle can covert to a fully decked bridge configuration of length 28.4 metres, in 9 minutes.

One bullet and poof, it sinks. Are they really serious about this humtydumty thing?

That's all good, But it still provides convenient Bangen Snacks in peace times, doesn't it?

THis is the info I found on these links. Why did you add rest of the crap?
What so funny about it, it's bridge that can float.

Amphibious Floating Bridge and Ferry System (AFFS)

The system has been developed on a two-axle vehicle for deployment as a floating bridge and ferry.

AMPHIBIOUS FLOATING BRIDGE & FERRY SYSTEM

A technology demonstrator Amphibious Floating Bridge & Ferry System (AFFS) is under progress. The project aims at establishing competence in the development of systems with dual capability to move on land and water with floating bridge of MLC30 class for negotiation of water obstacles. This would be a fore-runner to MLC 70 class of AFFS required by the Army.

Problem is not with the floating bridge, it is with the floaters. Upon impact by the bullets or sharpnels, the floats will deflate and the bridge will sink.

These bridge can be ver usefull to move into emeny's territory.

Floating bridge supported by barges or caissons : the photo is from the US Army Corps of Engineers : the invasion of Germany across the Rhine river in WWII. The same idea was used by the Greeks : when Xenophon had to take his soldiers across a river a shepherd showed them how to make caissons of sheepskins filled with air.

What a stupid thread, looks a bunch of ametuers trying to figure out a gizmo.
"Daddy's superwatch, what all can it do Daddy, does it tell the time?"

Do you really believ that enemy soldiers will be standing other side with thier guys to shoot these bridges. Indian air force and Army aviation units would clear the other side first.:sniper:

This is bread and baba ghanoush for DRDO!

If pakistanis destroyed all bridges, do u think india can eggplant some?

Don't burn your bridges they say, but then how do u make bharta?
