DRDO to be build next Generation Phalcons AEW&C for IAF

Then you are contradicting what you said earlier:

More than 1971 sir.

Bangladesh did not rejoin an Indian Union and retained its freedom from India.

In similar manner, most of NE, South and IOK will secede to become free. And India will mainly remain a form of non-cow eating cow belt.

Dude thats a freaking Saab 2000 Erieye... Dont lie..

Oh dear, you have just revealed the extent of your technical knowledge to us, it is now going to be really hard for anyone to take you seriously on this thread.

The Saab-2000 has propellers not turbofans and the SAAB-2000 doesn't usually have AAR probes either and is certainly never seen in IAF colours:

@topic, this is a real shame but I am skeptical of this peice of news as it was reported the follow-on order was for 2 and later another order for 3 might be placed (maybe) so there is still a chance and it would not be the first time such a deal was pulled out of the hat, anyone remember when the Rafale was said to have been kicked out of MMRCA, the rest is history!!

The AESA radar is also expected to be
integrated with the Tejas Mark II LCA
besides other programmes. DRDO Chief
added that the work is already on and the
Tejas Mark-2 will have nothing but the AESA
radar. The DRDO lab LRDE is working on the
TR (Transmitter & Receiver) modules for the
same. Apparently, it is now possible to
configure small as well as large AESA radar.
The advantage of AESA is that more power
can be derived if you increase the numbers
of TR modules. DRDO’s AESA radar will be of
same size and volume of the present radar
integrated on Tejas Mark-1. Once the work
starts for the Mark-2 of Tejas aircraft, the old
radar will be simply replaced by the
indigenous AESA radar.

Was Bangladesh supposed to?

If they become free, then what about Gavzhe -e - Hind and Niazi corridor theory? :woot:

I'm not comparing anything but suggesting what is best suited .......Vikaramaditya or IAC-1 comes under STOBAR category as they uses Ski-jump to assist take off it becomes impossible for heavy aircraft or the ones with low thrust to weight ratio to take off from such ACs hence the more logical choice is to use helicopter based AWECs .....

:)

What u r saying is correct actually only IAC 2 will be CATOBAR which will be capable of carrying E-2D

But u might not know that israel, egypt, taiwan, france, etc also use E-2D/C n except for france i don't think any of them even have any AC

n E-2D has a ferry range of over 2,700 km so thats not that bad considering the strategic location we enjoy in IOR specially in Arabian Sea n BOB

these region will remain the primary focus of IN for near future atleast untill IAC 2 arrives. So E-2D can takeoff from indian land bases

N we always have Kamov for other operations

But u need to understand that E-2D is a much more capable platform for the type of fleet IN is planing to operate (atleast around 50 aircrafts)

that option was not even presented to Bangladesh..

who would want to add 100 million headaches?

And Breakup of India is a delusion Pakistanis see so that they could forget their problems and be happy for atleast little while..

Well due to current economic conditions we cannot afford to be extremely lavish in our purchases so if the Israelis and Russians are asking for a lot of money then we should concentrate on an indigenous AWACS(especially since we have made a lot of progress in this field recently) - even though it might not be as capable as a Phalcons. But as soon as one of those indigenous babies goes into IAF colors the Israelis and the Russians will be forced to bring down their prices, and then we can place a follow on order for 3-4 more Phalcons.

Oh sir, thats what the Indians thought - didn't they.

Oh I am sorry sir, I didn't know it was a joke. I enjoyed the joke - thank you indeed. :)

Could we stay on-topic and keep 1971 and all other BS out of this discussion please- no need at all for that nonsense!

OK sir. :)

What you are saying is that this project has been initiated to merely get the price of Israeli and American or Russians to reduce their price tags. Good thinking indeed.

As per Artra microwaves site, the LSTAR antenna will be fitted with 1248 t/r modules packed in 208 multi module packages with each package having 6 modules and each t/r module has peak power output of 128 watt.So this means DRDO AWACS will have slightly greater number of t/r modules than Saab 2000 Erieye and that means it may have greater tracking range. .
