One hugely important DRDO project called the 'Supersonic Missile Assisted Release Torpedo' (SMART) seems to have made some progress with pneumatic ejection tests with dummy torpedoes being carried out. SMART intends to engage naval targets up to *650 km* away. #MoDAnnual201e

A break through in Jet engine technology. It can sustain a temperature in excess of 2700* C. This can be used in Jet engine hot parts.

Indian Rare Earths Limited has developed a formulation for Yttrium Stabilized Zirconia & Lanthanum Zirconate, which has been used to create bi-layer thermal barrier coatings (LZ over YSZ) for jet engine parts. Test material has already been sent to HAL. Results are encouraging.

As far as DRDO's S-Band High Power Microwave weapon is concerned, its 'indigenous Marx generator was tested up to 300 KV, 20 Hz and excellent performance was obtained' according to #MoDAnnual2019

It seems @HALHQBLR 'has successfully achieved running of HTFE-25 core-2 low bypass turbofan (jet engine) up to 100% with IGV modulation in March 2019.' IGV = Inlet Guide Vane. #MoDAnnual2019

.
Nothing next generational about these except Torpedo range ( which could very well be a typo). All these techs are mature in some countries.

Anti Tank SANT missile test fired with MMW seeker with high accuracy and very long range.

Behold
@DRDO_India
's Standoff anti-tank missile or SANT, which is equipped with a MMW seeker being launched from an IAF Mi-35 during tests. #MoDAnnual2019

Advance Light Towed Array Sonar (ALTAS): ALTAS is an
efficient sensing system for detection, localization and
classification of submarines operating especially in the
below surface layer ocean conditions. It is useful in Anti-
Submarine Warfare (ASW) operations and is the apt
sensor for warships to locate silent submarines capable
of launching high speed torpedoes. User Evaluation
Trials of the system onboard INS Sharda has been
completed satisfactorily.

Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Unmanned
Aerial Vehicle (UAV) ‘TAPAS BH’:
TAPAS-BH, a multimission
UAV is being developed with an endurance
of 24 hours to carry out the intelligence, surveillance
and reconnaissance (ISR) roles for the three Armed
Forces. It is being designed to operate at 30,000 ft
Above Mean Sea Level (AMSL) altitude and is capable
of carrying Electronic Warfare and Electro-Optic &
Synthetic Aperture Radar (EO & SAR) payloads. It can
carry a variety of other payloads weighing up to 350 kg.
The flights with High Power Engine (HPE) commenced
in February, 2018. During January, 2018 – March, 2019,
39 flight trials using airframe AF5 (with HPE) have
been completed (total 50 flight trials completed since
the maiden flight in November, 2016). Flight trials on
airframe AF6 also commenced in January, 2019 and as
on date, 9 flight trials have been conducted. Indigenous
SATNAV INS system, indigenous payloads (GPA Mk-IV,
MREO) and imported payloads (SATCOM, LREO, ELINT&
SAR) has also been tested during these trials. The
payload was able to localize radars successfully.

Active Electronically Scanned Array Radar (AESAR)
‘Uttam’:
AESAR ‘Uttam’ is an airborne fire control radar
for our indigenous fighter aircraft LCA ‘Tejas’. It is a
multi-mode radar which can be configured for fitment
on different airborne platforms. Shake down sorties
were completed in January, 2019 on modified executive
Jet hired. Indigenous AESA radar integration and EMI/
EMC tests on LCA ‘Tejas’ LSP2 aircraft are nearing
completion and flight evaluation is planned shortly.

Nothing next generational about these except Torpedo range ( which could very well be a typo). All these techs are mature in some countries.

No it is not typo. Educate yourself about it.

. . .
SFDR range mind boggling 340 km. It's insane.
It's just a leap in our capabilities. Nothing insane...
Just range of missile has no meaning. We have to make and sync it with a local radar

.
The problem I see is more in product development. There are no credible Indian defence products, only researches. You fight wars with weapons and not research reports.

.
any news about AURA UAV , hypersonic brahmos and AMCA..???

Several weapons and subsystems are actually being inducted. It's just the offshots, or new developments of those older programs are being developed. Rather like a phase 2 of developments happening.

Its your track record that makes one wonder. You folks have been in weapons research since 70s but very little (if any, may be some strategic weapons where no one gives you those) of it has been put into action with your forces. Your forces are armed with all the equipment that is procured from countries around the world. At best you have some equipment that was manufactured or assembled in India, rest comes from the US, UK, France, Russia, Israel and else where.

Research is good but what the point of it if you cann't put it in the hands of your armed forces.

That's the thing, several are getting into the field..

These are some examples. You're right, some of these are in development for some time, but each successful program development cycle keeps going down. Several off shots off of what were outdate systems are happening. All worth it.

MoDAnnual2019 confirms that DRDO's SFDR uses a boron based sustainer to deliver specific impulse of 1000 - 1200 sec in ramjet mode. The missile can engage aerial targets at ranges of 70 - 340 km. Here's my piece on the SFDR:
It leap for just India Ramjet Sams was being built various Countries during the cold war (Russia/USA/UK) but main drawbacks of Ramjet Sams is/was when they expired their fuel they losses momentum/range because of their Ramjet Inlets (drag), as comparing to conventional Sams (dual Pulse Rocket) @Ashwasthama
650 Km range SMART torpedo test fired.
Impossible simply impossible, even USA/Russia/China and other developed countries haven't this range class Torpedo yet, so don't believe this tweet, and water is 25% denser than air hence lots drag impossible to achieve 650 km range, how would guide this torpedo to its target lets assume its extreme range 650 Km, from radar the answer is no radar waves bounce back to the surface of water, sonar have range of few kilometers to within the range of 100 km, latest sonars haven't a range of more then 100 km, so don't believe this nonsense tweet which is impossible to achieve with current technology even USA/Russia/ can't built this kind of Torpedo with their latest military tech @Ashwasthama

.
My only beef is with word advance , Why the bloody f---k we over use it in every freaking project as far as per my research they are not something out of this world , for christ sake yaar just adding word advance docent make it advanced . saying that kudos to the hardworking scientist's and DRDO labs involved respect :victory1:

Solid Fuel Ducted Ramjet (SFDR) Technology for Air
Launched Tactical Missiles: The state-of-the-art air-to-
air missile powered with ‘SFDR’ propulsion technology is
a joint development project between DRDO and Russia.
The missile is designed with an advanced propulsion
system and is configured with nozzle-less booster,
thrust modulation system and boron based sustainer
to deliver specific impulse of 1000 - 1200 sec in ramjet
mode. The missile can hit the air targets in the ranges
from 70 - 340 km in the power ‘ON’ mode. During
the flight test conducted on May 30, 2018, nozzle-less
booster technology was successfully demonstrated
in the mission for the first time in the history. In the
flight tested conducted on February 8, 2019 from ITR,
Chandipur all objectives were met towards realisation
of the SFDR propulsion system consisting of nozzle less
booster, solid fuel ramjet sustainer with air intakes & fuel
controller and insulation system.
