He said 95 % of the wealth of Pakistan lies under its soil in the form of huge deposits of coal, cooper, gold silver, iron ore, lead, zinc, chromites and bauxite.

Large gas fields and oil deposits may be lying under ground awaiting discovery.

He emphasized on diverting brilliant human resource to the fruitful exploitation of the immense mineral wealth to break the shackles of present poverty.

He urged the private sector to invest monetarily in these ventures while the intellectual input has to be forthcoming from the universities and research institutions of the country.

“With a single minded focus on this vision there is no reason why the economy of the nation will not take a giant leap forward”, he added.

The Pro-Chancellor of the university, Hassan M. Khan, in his speech, said that Riphah International University has built 40 houses for flood affected people near charsaddah and these shall be handed over by the end of this month.

Referring to the presence of Dr. Samar Mubarakmand as the chief guest, the Pro-Chancellor said he is pioneering in amazing new technology to optimally exploit Thar coal deposits to produce enough electricity to get rid of loadshedding in Pakistan forever.

The Vice Chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad said education and particularly higher education is linked with the economic development, therefore, current trend in higher education is to develop linkage with the industry. Dr Samar stresses for exploitation of mineral wealth

Really we should not rely on IRAN gas pipe line instead we must explore our won gas and oil reserves as well as try to utilize the gas that is going to be produced by Thar coal project.....

Yes Pakistan should explore its own natural gas and oil reserves but Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project is also very important to Pakistan so we can assure our future generations are also energy self efficient.

Besides, Pakistan has no disputes with Iran. Pakistan and Iran are friends. Iran was the first country to recognize Pakistan in 1947.
