No one can be allowed to make fun of either Islam or things in Islam. It's not Islamic Republic of Pakistan not France. If some one is following personal agenda he can be dealt with but that doesn't give any one permission to make fun of Hijab or Beard or things like that. State better deal with them

Did you watch the complete video where he was telling us how religious sentiment was exploited for political gains?
No one made fun of the burqa and even if they did its no crime

My dear Zarvan, I agree with you no religious founders should be made mockery off and the law should prevent troublemakers from doing so, however, academic discussions, especially those that question certain beliefs should be allowed. Only critical discussions will allow the discussion of ideas and spreading of knowledge and Deen.

As for making fun of Beard and Burqa, bhai, these things are not sacred. Some people have childish minds where they raise ridiculous objections to beard etc, there is no harm in it, the Burqas and Beards are lifestyle choices that should be mandated by the individual on themselves, it is not the business of the state to be enforcing these.

Well actually it's you failed to read Pakistani constitution not just personalities related to Islam but also things related to Islam you can't make fun of. It's a crime to do that and punishable according to law.

No one is saying go naked, the word you should be using is Purdah and not Burqa. Someone wearing a Burqa does not mean they are observing purdah as they may still be doing some things that are contrary to the spirit of Purdah.

And the only way to observe Purdah in it's true sense is making people understand the advantages of modesty and self restraint. Making women wear burqa will not stop rapes or sexual assaults, neither has it stopped men from doing those things with beards.

It will not stop the spread of western culture either, you are trying to fight ideas with physical forms of reactive measures. It will never succeed, the most that will happen is that you will have a hypocritical society where you see burqas and no purdahs and many beards but no self restraint. Oh wait, never mind, that's already happening in Pakistan.
