DPP victory, what course of action should China be prepared to take ?

the problems cai facing:

1,Cai family has great business with japan, during Japanese normalization, japan will ask Cai produce troubles with mainland as much as possible to alleviate Chinese pressure, better if China, US could fight across the strait. However, US will not to see the stress with China on strait, it will control Cai, so Can Cai keep balance among the three? Can Cai do the Japanese mission well?

2, Cai’s adopted dad,岩里政男(Iwasato Masao) wants Cai lead Taiwan to be independent. So how can Cai be not provocative?

3, Taiwanese livehood pressure, all promise Cai made during the election, now how can Cai fulfill them, ask for help from japan, US ? a joke. The above two will not allow Cai close to mainland, what else Cai could do?

4, the main pressure from mainland, the preparation of military solving is always a choice. Mainland will not just sit and see the separation inclination futher, Can Caigo step by step towards independence without triggering the war?
The other end of the dog chain circling the neck of Tokyo is in the hand of Washington. As long as keeping close communication with Washington, there is no any need to take Japan into account.

Hi Mr Songshan. Thanks for the tag,you are one of the few members here who i respect and who is quite neutral/moderate/respectful in his views.
I agree completely with everything you said. I will also add that the new anti-China Taiwanese president will not only deepen it's relations/alliance with the U.S and Japan, but she will also take a tougher stance against China internationally and unlike the KMT distance itself from the mainland in the dispute in the SCS(never mind that it was the nationalists who created the current nine dash claim for China. lol ).

However, economic relations/ties will continue as they have for the past decade, but that doesn't means Taiwan will get any closer to China nor does it means that Taiwanese will love the mainland more. If there is anything globalization/free trade has thought us today, it's that close economic ties/trade doesn't means countries will automatically become allies/love each other(sometimes it's often the opposite actually. lol ), just like we have seen with China and Japan, U.S and China, China and Vietnam, China-Philippines etc who all have huge trade/business ties, but they are nowhere near partners/allies, on the contrary they have moved further from each other more than ever. It's unfortunate but that's how things are. Just my opinion though. :-)
He should be called Mr Hu.

I prefer something more romantic!

This song illustrates the Japanese love for China+Taiwan. A love that will never die. :)

It seems to me that you are getting more handsome day by day my friend........ :smokin:

"Japanese love for China+Taiwan". OK, I will pretend I believe it. :D

Believe it or not, its true. I would just ask you to separate politics from the grassroots person-to-person collective appreciation. You will notice that to the average Japanese, China is actually a nation that captures our interest, fascination, and awe. You will see that on a consensus, Japanese civilians actually see relations with China as vital, important.

Anyways, wehther we like it or not-- despite what the ultranationalists in our nations say or voice -- Japan and China are tied to each other at the hip. We are neighbors, shall always be neighbors, and what happens to one will directly affect the other.

A Japanese patriot like myself sees the importance of China, and the role of China in strengthening Japan, and reawakening the nation from foreign state interests. Believe you me, i am for and in support of the union of East Asia , in particular the complete -- military, economic, social, cultural, academic integration of Japan and Greater China, with a unified Korea.

Perhaps in the past the way Japan did it was --- unfortuitous. Perhaps in the future, it will require the mutual cooperation of all East Asian nations to cooperate and to gradually implement policies to realize this goal. For one -- this Japan-SK-China FTA is the first step. The first step among many.

Come, brother, let us hope for a wonderful , glorious future. Together.

The winning of this woman shows that people like her personality, not merely her political agenda that makes her win the election. She is not charismatic in my opinion but some how people in Taiwan like her. It is an interesting case for any one having interest in leadership.

Taiwan doesn't need to do anything. China's economy is a ticking time bomb ready to go off any day. any leverage China has will be gone once the peasants turn on the government, but then again this would be a good excuse to start a war for Taiwan, and wars with Vietnam and India.

.
Mr. Lipu, please, stop being so provocative. Cant you for once just be not anti-Japanese? Just for once, please open your mind!
Sorry, the performances of you and your government resolve my responses, Anyway I just told the truth using some analogies. You needn't reply this post, I have no interest to read.

But I am NOT the Government nor do i represent any government institutions. Listen, it seems that we tend to get into disagreements (and it never ends well) whenever there is mention of WW2 or historical atrocities. So how about we just not talk about WW2 or anything pertaining to war atrocities? Problem is solved. We can still talk about other things in the present -- arts, culture, technology, politics, security issues et al. I don't hate you, dude, nor do i want to burn any bridges here. I just want to learn more and discourse more with other Chinese members. All I ask is that we not fight, let's just not go personal or try to put each other down -- its a simple request.

And if we do this, we cooperate, you will see that I'm not such a bad guy at all. I'm not here to put down China, on the contrary, i am a lover of Chinese culture, Chinese literature, Chinese arts, Chinese accomplishments, and how that pertains to global development, as well as Japan.

I have nothing but love and appreciation for your country. Just treat me with respect and decorum, and i will do the same.

Hope to see you become a cool guy to me. Peace.
