DHAKA, Aug 21 (Reuters) Classes and exams were postponed in Bangladesh's biggest university Tuesday after about 100 students were injured overnight in a campus battle with security forces, officials and witnesses said. The violence erupted Monday evening after the students protested against the presence of army troops at a stadium at Dhaka University during a football match, they said. The troops assaulted some protesters, fuelling the unrest that soon spread across the 40,000-student campus. Hundreds of police rushed in, fired teargas and rubber bullets, the witnesses said. The students hit back with sticks and stones. The students have called for an indefinite strike at the university.

Sure would love to know of the Indian channel which said that it was because of the Pakistani influenced BD Army. I watch all Indian channels, BBC and CNN. I regret to say that I was not as sharp as you to spot this news on an Indian channel that you were able to spot in Pakistan! Good for you.

The current Pak Chief of the Army is a Mukti Joddha. Hardly pro Pakistan Army, if I may say so.

All those who were from the Pakistani Army in BD would have retired and gone home.

So, both you and your imagined Indian channel are in total delirium!

And any way the army in Dhaka (Dacca) University is being moved out by 1300 hours today!

Would the moving out after a stand also be reported by the Indian news channel of your as Pakistani Army inspired?

hahaha, exactly.when I first saw this thread I thought it might be another ISI-BD alliance thread.anyways this was just a small incident made into a mountain out of a molehill by the DU students.Obviously the army troops was to blame for pissing off the students by closing down the gym.

A Himalayas out of an ant hill (not even big as a molehill) is what was being aimed by this thread.

And quick comes the bash India stuff (without substantiation) - an Indian channel!

How juvenile!

okay let's forget the Indian media here and stay to the topic.
Yes violence has spread across the country. But no is to blame other than the ones who are causing violence even after that incident.

from what I am hearing from some DU students the ones who have continued the violence are those from the BCL(Awami league student wing) and BCD(BNP student wing).
now they will be going for unemployment, price hikes and other issues for which the CTG is hardly to be blamed.

this is why for the past 5/10 years,Bangladesh authorities couldn't focus on bigger matters, such border issues and immigration issues.Internal strife and inter-political party fighting are capable enough to bring down everything including the economy.

Curfew has been imposed in major cities. B'desh is the lead story in most of the news channels now.
