I personally think india will host olympic in "2028" not before that...and i think that will be the perfect time for us to host such a big event..! guys we need to keep in mind that olympic is much more bigger then CWG.. And if we host the olympics then that should be the best which anyone have ever seen or watched,,,so ,it will be better to host 4 or 8 years(an awesome one.!) late..! then 2020 ..too early...!


And one more reason,,we are also bidding for 2018 asian games....so,that clearly shows ,we will bid with full throtal in 2028...

They could barely make it.

Olympics is a much more 'heavy' event so I dont think that India can cope with it!

I don't think we're ready for Olympics yet. We must remember that China's at least a decade ahead of us and therefore was able to stage the Olympics with better conditions and very good facilities. We shouldn't compete and bid just because our neighbours did because that is what exactly Russians did in their hay days---competed for the heck of competing with US and not improving themselves or building capacity first.

CWG was itself so close to being a disaster strapped with corruption and money scams and only became a success because of volunteer's work to save India' face; Olympics is a huge event and therefore I believe we shouldn't host Olympics until 2025-30 at least.

We're simply NOT READY yet.

I agree with your humble opinion. Olympics is a heavyweight and we're simply not geared up to waste so much money. Rather we can use that money to enhance national infrastructure and later on once these develop enough, bid for it.

Well said..Anyways visiting in couple of weeks..Lets see if i can meet some more Molawchai this time..My previous experience with Thai People have been good so far..

Even I think we should not hurry about hosting Olympic.First improve sport culture in country atleast we should be able to in top 10-15 tally in olympics.

we should host an asiad first and that too in a different city
we dont need all these glittery things.
The main reason we provide, for hosting these games is, developing quality sports infra
and by hosting it in a different city v can do the same for a different city.
V can show the world dat india is beyond the colonial structures in delhi.
