Does pakistan have super speciality hospitals?

I am just curious to know the medical facilities that are available in pakistan...How good is the quality of hospitals? How wide spread are super speciality hospitals (if at all there are a few) ? I mean in india you could find 3 or 4 super speciality hospitals even in second tier cities..

Pakistan doesnt have any top notch hospital in its public health care system. The demand of the rich for quality health care is catered to by entrepreneurial health professionals who open up private hospitals that provide reasonably good service at inflated prices.
The day my cousin finished his med school he demanded Rs 25,00,000 from his father to open up a hospital with his friends. I mean the rich will pay through the nose to get quality health care in Pakistan. Thats why private medical business is very profitable right now.

Same is the case in india..however telangana and Andhra Pradesh govts sponsor free treatment for some diseases through private hospitals through a scheme called aarogya sri.
The following is an excerpt from Wikipedia page of aarogya sri

The benefit to the family is on a floater basis i.e. the total reimbursement of Rs.1.50 lakhs can be availed individually or collectively by members of the family. An additional sum of Rs 50,000 is provided as a buffer to take care of expenses if it exceeds the original sum i.e. Rs 1.50 lakhs per family. Excepting cost for cochlear implant surgery with auditory-verbal therapy is reimbursed by the trust up to a maximum of Rs.6.50 lakhs per case.

All transactions are cashless for covered procedures. A BPL (below poverty line)beneficiary can go to any hospital either public or private and come out without making any payment to the hospital for the procedures covered under the scheme. The same is the case for diagnostics, if eventually the patient does not end up in undergoing the surgery or therapy.

Hospitals are mandated to conduct free health camp, thereby taking advanced evaluation at the doorstep of patient

There are quite a few top notch hospitals in Pakistan, AKUH is one of them. Read the attached link for details. Neuro robotic exoscope is a first in the region.

we have some good hospitals but lack specialists in "rare" or "non-profitable" diseases.. seriously lack animal vets in most cases just hakkem for cows, buffalos etc

What do you mean by super speciality hospitals?

I'm sure he means specialty.

Hospitals are distinguished by:
ownership (for-profit/not-for-profit),
scope of services(pediatrics/ cancer-research),
teaching hospitals with academic affiliations(this is where most of the specialized research & clinical trials happen).

Medical Tourism usually happens for the reason of better quality care, care not being offered in their native communities, costs associated with the care, or unconventional promising care not offered due to laws in their country.

Take gestational surrogates, this is apart of medical tourism.

If we talk about Govt hospitals...You go there for treatment of Hepatitis and you'll end up taking AIDS with you...

Private ones are best ones...but there your heart would stop beating with bill in hands.

That's dilemma of third world countries even the basic health needs are far far far from your approach..

And if you ask about animal's hospitals ..then the condition is satisfactory enough...

And mr. @Pluralist should I share the pictures of Mayo, Ganga Raam, Alied Hospital, Nishtar Hospital and etc etc...Agha Khan's charges are not affordable by a common man bhai..

One of the link I posted was of JPMC, a government hospital, here is another semi government hospital Dow university hospital of health science, have been there, good at affordable rate. The Ojha center for chest diseases, the lab, OPD and everything is good.

Well nice facilities you got there....but here it is more of skill rather than facilities. Except for the Government hospitals and ridiculously costly hospitals very few have such amneties. But the skill of a medical professional here is more due to massive exposure to cases.

The one good thing about pakistanis is that they have this quality of donating money for charity which hardly any rich indians have(like imran Khan and inzamam setting up hospitals)
