The point is, how long will these last?

Strategic bombers are super costly.

And Tu-22M3s are really old.

Older aircraft = horrible operating costs = poor availability during crisis.

We need bombers alright but we need new ones.

And the rate at which ADA and HAL are going, we won't be able to get an indigenous bomber till at least 2050.

Buying bombers doesn't give us any strategic independence.

Let's not forget the who point of a bomber.

The P8i is MPA ie it has ISR role which includes ASW and AShW , which is why it can carry Harpoon, Torpedoes and Depth Charges

All Dedicated Bomber (H-6, B52 , Tu22M, Tu160) don't have any secondary ISR role
