the kargil operation just doesn't makes any sense, the success & failure of a military operation is all about achieving its objectives & NOT the casualty rates of the opponent. Soviet Union lost more men then Germany' in the battle of Stalingrad, but none the less won the war, because even though Germany lost less men then the Soviets, but none the less it failed to achieve its objectives & even though the Soviets lost more men then Germany but it achieved its objectives none the less. & militarily the kargil operation failed to achieve its objectives, & it was a blunder through & through. Nawaz Sharif with all his ills cannot expected to agree to such a foolish plan like the kargil operations & axe his own foot, not only did Benazir but even gen. Zia-ul haq had rejected it, from all angle this operation was initiated by a few general's with the sole objective to create a perfect pretext for a coup d'état

You are absolutely correct in your assessment. The Kargil MISADVENTURE was cooked up by a Cabal who were seeking personal glory. They cared two hoots for the consequences or more correctly speaking; were sufficiently intellectually challenged so as to be unable to see the consequences. That the stakes would be raised by the adversary and that the "Bluff would be called". Thus leading to a WAR that Paksitan just could not fight!
Is'nt it clear by now; that the PAF and PN just refused to be bamboozled by the sellers of that idiotic plan called OP BADR. Actually they did Pakistan a great Service by refusing to ride on the PA's coat-tails. The only victory that the PA was left with was by uprooting a Govt. elected by the People of Paksitan in another Coup.
Another combat success of the PA in its regular Wars with successive Govts. in Paksitan!!!

Be that as it may; it was Pakistan that paid the ultimate price for all the shenanigans of a few. Paksitan got labelled as an irresponsible state, was asked by anybody and everybody to back down (including China!!) and it did just that. To what avail? At the expense of so much "blood and treasure". And the crowning ignominy of it all was that Pakistan had even disowned its own soldiers; calling them "a rag-tag bunch of shalwar-kameez clad Mujaheddin" !!!

What an end for the soldiers: abandoned on the heights to die, without food and ammo and after that not even called soldiers.............

No one is winner in any war, Its only the lion size ego n false self pride which does. No siachien, kargil will ever happen if only these two countries without any prejudice sits across table. Give n take on Kashmir and work on the uplift of there peoples n stronger economies

The Americans betrayed us real bad during Kargil. Lets go into the background. The Kargil debacle was in response to the Siachen attack by the Indians which resulted in the Indians taking 1000 miles of territory from us Pakistanis. The US during all this turned a blind eye to all of this. It was wanton aggression by the Indians.

US at that time had just finished using us in the Afghan Soviet war and it had no interest in Pakistan no more.

But finally years later when in response to the Indian aggression in Siachen Pakistan opened a front at Kargil US immediately demanded us to withdraw. We all know how weak Nawaz Sharif is from the recent forgiving of Shakil Afridi (without trading him for Afia) and Nawaz Sharif quickly gave in to international pressure.

We were never more brutally betrayed by the US than we were during the Kargil and after Afghan Soviet war. We should seek better relations with China.

I remember even China asked Pakistan to withdraw inspite of Mushy camping for quite sometime in Beijing.

what the US did shouldnt be a surprise, do you reeaaaalllly believe someone will come fighting for you? other than hand you some titbits in the fog of war - dont expect boots on the ground or some such.

Gilgit Baltistan, So called Pak administered Kashmir, Balochistan and Sindh was Indian terrirory which has been occupied by Pakistani..

We are 25 million Muslims we will take back these areas from Pakistan
