Nice attempt JustPk  but unfortunately I can clearly see the future of this thread.......:agree:

.
Pakistan and India has only two problems.

1) Kashmir
2) Water Issues

both are negotiable if parties from both countries are serious and finally want to resolve these issues. The main problem is the Kashmir issue only and end of the day the only solution i find is give and take..............

--------------

or by 21st Deember 2012 we are going to get rid of all these tensions

I will first draw a comparison, Anglo-French enimity. While there were MANY differences, what were some of the similarities.

1) In the case of Anglo-French, it was chauvinism due to nationalism; in this case, its chauvinism due to religion. That must go away. This will go away as well. Science is still at it's infancy and we are already seeing how potent it is at neutralising fanaticism. There are VERY few religious fanatics in grad-schools for example. They will be replaced by two kinds of people a) people who take that religion is a highly personal thing and b) people who are rationalist/atheist. As much as Indians would like to claim that there is no fanaticism in India, Indians are just as fanatical as Pakistanis are.

2) Feud over resources. A simple logic in security systems is that, you don't pay 1000$ to keep your 500$ secure. As nations realize that the cost of fighting is greater than the value of the resources we are fighting over, agreements are forged.

There was a time as a child when I thought of patriotism as a value. I always had IMMENSE respect for soldiers. Off late I've lost that. I also have lost attachment to nationalism or religion. When people realize that there is greater value in fighting AGAINST evil than fighting FOR your nation, it's only a matter of time before peace is attained.

catch some slp and this thead will be still there when u return tomorrow...

answer to ur q is no...will look it up...

. .
simple answer - no

the main issue is Kashmir which is not all going to b solved untill the end of this world

the problem if only b solved either india surrender kashmir or pakistan renounce the claim of kashmir

we all know both r not going to happen because either way the govt of both nations will b doomed if any of the accepted the above stance

i was saying that i have seen thread like these turning into a India Pakistan contest..and the members of both the side start bashing each other..and the thread gets derailed...but I still think its a nice attempt and will surely contribute to it positively wherever possible...thanks for this thread.

interesting -

1) i dont think it is abt religion here...india has many muslims who live in harmony with hindus and others ...so some more sitting in another country would not bother them.........the way u spoke abt the B school population etc ... similarly that lot and much more in India DOES agree to fanaticism in India...we have enuff problems internally relating to that and more...so the educated and aware population is NOT living in denial....

2) i think for gov's ego is larger than resourses or any amt of $$$

i still have IMMENSE and utmost respect for soldiers - both sides of the border...coz they knowingly die for the country with sc***d up systems...and not solving this issue...those families sacrifice their lives for leaders who deserve to be held answerable for unable to solve the problems...

Mind u - as i am on LOC - i talk for both the countries here !!!
