To all the deccan plateau members here on PDF..have you ever felt that you have been so fortunate to be living here?in the morning I was reading a post of a Pakistani who said they couldn't do yoga in this hot month of June when Roza is on...I googled and found summer ends in Pakistan in the first week of July..that is complete 3 months of summer...and the mean temperature of June is 38 degrees...compare that with deccan plateau where we have only 2 months of summer.
Even north India gets monsoon in the last week of June.
Deccan plateau doesn't have any sea coasts(obviously as it is a plateau) which keeps away high humidity..you need to go to a coastal city like vizag or Mumbai or chennai to realise how uncomfortable you feel in that weather(of course people who have been living there for so long may not feel that comfortable even though they sweat profusely).
Winters in north as well as Pakistan are too chilling..we hardly have an afternoon when the temperature is below 20c in winter(of course mornings are a bit cold but not unbearable)
Countries like Bangladesh,Sri Lanka have a lot of rain which gets irritating.Even in pakistan floods arencommon.Deccan plateau gets moderate rain.
In the entire Indian sub continent you will not get a better place to live in than deccan plateau.
Apart from 2 months of summer all the other months have pleasant weather..have you ever realised it?

Hehe.. so true..
Go to Kolkata or Mumbai and you will know the meaning of humidity, next only to Chennai perhaps.
I had to spend 2 months in Chennai during peak summer in a very small room with a table fan that hardly worked. Very difficult experience. It was when I was in college, doing a summer vocational training in Chennai. At that time I did not have the money to shift to a better service apartment, otherwise I would have.

We take it for granted many things in life....we realise what we are blessed with once we are deprived of it...in deccan plateau Bangalore and places around it are even more pleasant..my friend told me the temperature hardly crosses 35c even in summers and does not fall below 18 to 20c in winter.

Bangalore is located at a height, about 900 mts from mean sea level. Hence the weather is good there, so far as temperature is concerned. The same can be said about Pune, located at a height averaging 550 mts.

900 is higher than 550?isn't it?anyway entire deccan plateau is way higher than sea level which keeps temperature moderate and pleasant..I am happy(been happier if I was in blore or its surrounding areas:))

dude..yes 900 > 500.. no question about that. I don't know where are you going with that. I'm pointing out the difference in weather that one can observe with slight changes in elevation.

I live in pune.
And people from other places come here and they like it here and never wanna go back .
I realise why they like it here when i travel to other places of india.

Nowdays it is very difficult to get out after 12 o'clock here in Punjab. Normal life comes to halt during midday. Clinics are full of heat stroke patients.
Same thing happens during foggy & cloudy days of winter when severe cold; fog, rain disrupts normal life.
