Do Pakistan infantryman use optics on rifles?

Sir, my understanding was that it is only humanly possible to shoot accurately at approx. 300m using iron sights. Beyond that, the human eye won't be able to discern the target properly.

You are right, beyond that range the target gets blurred BEHIND the front sight tip.

MG3 suppresses like anything....ok let me narrate a funny incident from 2013....
somewhere in SWA...
a post having three Dshks and 6 MG3s....a dry nullah coming towards towards your post....post was on a hilltop...

one night, while looking out of our TI sights, we detected an enemy party of maybe a dozen or so individuals coming towards the post for God know s what......now there was a place where they HAD to cross the 300 m wide dry nullah.....they were detected and sprayed by MG3s and Dshks.....tracers all around, they retreated, pounded by 81 mm mortars on their return, couple of injured as well....

since they transmit mostly in clear, so once they retreated a bit, their commander who was perched somewhere nearby on a hill top, ordered them again to move forward....the other chap, being wise enough after having been plastered by so much firepower, said in breathless tone.... (name) maulvi saab, khud aa ker humaray saath chalo, jab 12.7 ki goli qareeb se guzarti hai tau kia kuch yaad dila deti hai.....lolx.....and we all laughed at it....

its a bad situation if you get pinned down by auto fire ( may it be SMGs, MGs or even Dshks).....Dshks especially, with its anti-infantry range of 3500 m, it plays havoc with your nerves.



i somehow lost a vid in my collection...

it was around 2012, terrorists used to make vids of their attacks on PA posts as well.....

in the vid, the terrorists try to creep near to a PA post.....however, somehow they get detected, and two MG3s open up with tracers.....the terrorist cameraman went berserk with incoming tracers clearly visible, hitting all around them....terrorists suffered couple dead.....

MG3s, their fire and their sound.....marvelous.....their effect, devastating.

Damn, red dots are pretty shitty at far ranges, iron sights can do just that. I was thinking more of a POSP like this would be like an budget ACOG. 4x zoom, and easy to use ranging, and made especially for 7.62x39.

On the same forum many years ago, there had been a long discussion on the same forum about the same issue you have brought up. I believe, each and every assault rifle carried by an infantry soldier must be fitted with an optic aid...POF could just do that but those conventional-thinking Chachas won't like to start something new...

You know, if Pakistan replaced its service rifle with something indigenous, yet effective chambered in .556 and bought/made new optics that would increase lethality many fold.

Hell no......The R&D is too weak in this regard ...it would be a disaster if they went straight to making a service rifle...They can't even make design a descent one service pistol, revolver or even a double barrel. All they do is like reproducing AK rifles, MP-5 variants, Turkish pistols and German G3s...The big wigs on top does not let them have set up to produce stuff like gloves, googles and vests indigenously....A case in point is the inventory of the SSW ...toys from FN and MILCORE US ...Glocks from Austria .....smells like a lot of cuts in every deal....no ?

In theory if a good rifle could be licensed with new machining, and an optic like the primary arms 1-8 could be bought or made indigenously that would make the army on par with the US army in terms of weaponry(not in equipment.

Also ...All they have to do is to fit all G-3s and AKs with optics ...a rugged and reliable one ...it will be enough. The PA could not replace its rifle in the past 10 years or more ....the first idea that floated about this among the top brass was almost more than a decade and yet nothing has happened.

Bruh....just check the TFB ...there are more than a 100 companies who are making excellent rifles. at a dirt cheap price ....the world does not end at M-416 or G-36 or something like that ...Look at Israel and China ....both have made their own service rifles on time and now also selling it to others as expensive as they can....

Yo @OsmanAli98 you know you can assemble and finish your own AR-15 without a background check? You have to finish machining the 80% lower reciever they provide you with which is quite easy.
