Do Pakistan Armed Forces Lack Dedicated Airborne/Paratrooper Division ???

It's a newborn .. It will need time to evolve .. But it uses the same concept ... Hence our answer to the 75th.

Is this the unit that was trained by the 75th Rangers squadron deployed to Pakistan? Or is this unit more of one 'baptized by fire'?

@Sarge is the Military a hobby or profession?

The US forces trained the Frontier Corps Paramilitary & their own SF Wing (SOG).. They trained a few batches of not more... and than was discontinued after another Pak-US relationship "hiccup"... And SSG took over the role (training FC)..

These guys initially were raised by every corps (battalion size) with light training received from SSG for QRF duty ..

Than they evolved into "Specialised Light Infantry role like the US Ranger... Baptised by fire they were .. Now they complete 6-8 month course at SSG Facilities and are being deployed in FATA .. Initially the formations had embedded SSG operators with them during combat/operations ... Now they are doing it themselves ... And being sent abroad aswell as participating in SF ex at home...

All in all they are to fulfill the same role as the US's 75th Rangers Regiment.

an airborn assault has never been applied in modern warfare against semi advanced armies, the countries that posses them have massive standing armies like china, usa, india, russia, they have the extra resources to raise a large air brigade in terms of indo-pak context india is basically hedging its bets that will all the pressure the pak army will face on the border they'll send there heli born troops and drop them off deep behind enemy lines, what they dont realise is that all the paramilitary guys like the fc, rangers and reserves will all be there waiting for them, they'll be swarmed
@DESERT FIGHTER how effective are those scoped AK-56s the pak army use, they look all flashy but what does your brother say on how they work in the field? i heard the pak army wasn't happy with them which provoked them to go for a new caliber machine gun

Those where produced by POF.... Work great... The additional accessories like laser illuminator & designators,UBGLs,holographic sights/aimpoint/red dots & other scopes work really well in the hands of a trained soldier... Even Russians SFs are using AKs aswell as other states..

But than again AKs apart from 100 series have phaser out by top tier SFs like SS guys... They are also being replaced slowly by other special units...

Apart from the regular troops who it seems love those accessories on theirs ..

AK basically replaced the MP-5 not the G-3 .. Although G3 has also been replaced by newer M & S variants with the army but mostly with the Paramilitaries...

Hopefully soon army will select a new service rifle .. Scar,ARX,Beretta,CZ,AK 100 series or the new US AR platform being tested.

A few type of mods in use with the Army

Thats a good array of weapon display up there.

Behind enemy lines operations require make shift equipment necessary for mission and preparing equipment from scratch apart from using captured weaponry from enemy soldiers. Similarly, a little knowledge about pyro-technics can help create explosives.

during training soldiers are given options to do para training.
SSG,SSN,SSW all were air dropped across whole malakand for swat operation. paratroopers can be dropped against terrorists with less strength or no air force. it is no more possible against good armies.

NO it is quite possible today. Especially today. You remember Abottobad - Osama bin laden ?? especially in your country done by us.
USA used seal team 6 Special forces with stealth heli not paratroopers

US.RUSSIA,UK, France mostly do Operations on the foreign land. that's why they do Paratroopers to land behind the terrorists..

Neither Pakistan has done any operations on foreign land nor She has intention to sent forces on foreign land to do operations..

has anyone seen G3S in use by anyone in Pakistan? I wonder if this gun has only remained on the display panel.
Never came across anyone using it.G3s came in those days when already G3 showed pathetic performance in COIN ops.At that time demand for SMG's a.k.a type 56-2 a.k.a chinese ak was increasing so she died.

And cutting edge technology was utilised, the ******** can only dream about possessing such sophisticated technology especially with an incompetent organisation like the DRDO tasked to produce your third rate hardware. One more point needs to be taken into consideration, most of Pakistan's radars and other assets are facing Hindia and not Afghanistan, this fact also needs to be taken into account before you make such irresponsible claims HIndian.

To be Honest we DO lack Specialist Paratrooper division.
A division armed with special light arms + Air borne vehicles + Strategic heavy lifter can be game changer during the battle.
Paratroopering at the start of battle is bit suicidal , but during coarse of battle air drops do can operate behind enemy lines and cease the supply lines or what ever the mission is given to them.

Agreed, specially against Indian Cold start and their IBGs a force like US 81st airborne will be very potent, if added in PA.
