Technically, majority were criticizing blasphemy laws for the long time. It is just Imran Khan is in power hence the sudden u-turn in terms of moral support.



You believe doesn't make it law. The blasphemy law has been created in late 8th to 9th century which was the purpose to dumb down the population in order to control them.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has never authorized punishment for directly insulting him on his face. Because Islam is not about him (PBUH), rather Islam is about the truth encouraging people to be open-minded to seek the knowledge by any means necessary and hence all kind of criticisms are welcome which is indicator as signs of seeking knowledge.

If they were crime, many would have been punished alive long time ago. I just gave you some examples like Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (R.A).

You can ask Islamic scholar about the blasphemy laws that hasn't been authorized by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in person.

Blasphemy law cannot be part of Islam since Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) never authorized for that system. That system is engineered to dumb down the population which is against Islam. As the population was growing at rapidly rate, the leaders needed system to keep the population in control meaning don't ask the leaders in terms of accountability.

And it creates hysteria and darkness whereas Islam promotes open-mindedness and light.
