Do CFTs Only Contain Fuel !

Bottom line for JF-17 is that it has to free up the 3 HPs occupied by the External Fuel Tanks be it with CFTs or by increasing internl fuel capacity.

IMO LOwer RCS is needed only in SEAD/DEAD operations.
And if you're going for attack (any kind) you will detect by long range Air defense radars,Fighter jets, and you're wrong that only SEAD/DEAD missions needs Stealth, if F-35 goes on missions with external payloads/CFT its increase RCS greatly by remaining radars/Fighter jets @Haris Ali2140

SEAD/DEAD are meant to establish air dominance so the jets can roam freely. F22 F35 will carry out SEAD DEAD mission while the enemies jets will be taken care of by F15 and F18.

F-22 is only for air superiority and its isn't easy to knock down air defense of the enemy at once @Haris Ali2140

Will JF-17 block III be a 'modern aircraft'?.

fighter capabilities sensors and weapons make it modern,
JF17 can carry fuel tanks already. So havin CTFs or not cannot decide about its modern nature.
JF17 primarily is a light combat fighter with a limited load to carry. so even of hardpoints are increased or CFTS are added, it wont benefit much because that load would be cut from weapons carrying capability.

so as far as i know JF17 will not have CFTs any time soon.

I don't see any CFTs on F22 or F35. CFTs are mostly used with older 4th gen A/Cs to give them some extra fuel and capabilities.
CFTs will affect stealth so they are unlikely for stealth jets, besides if they do need to ferry them for long range it would be easier to add fuel cells inside their internal weapon bays.
