A Pathan from Peshawar, Yusuf Khan is over 90. Btw, when he had visited BD a decade back, people insisted on calling him by his original Muslim name.

Asking Allah to forgive his sin is not a statement proclaiming him a sinner. It is a standard Islamic saying for those who may soon depart from life. It is wished that ones sins are forgiven so that their passing is peaceful and that they find peace in heaven.

And who cares about bd? Fact is people in India insisted on calling him by his hindu name, and so he had a hindu name.

In the early days of the film industry no Muslim name was used. It was thought indecent for Muslims to be acting/singing/dancing. So they were allotted Hindu names. In Hindu culture dancing and singing are acceptable.

Thats not true, it was because Bollywood was a Hindu industry (and still continues to be one, and will always be one). Bollywood has always been one of the biggest achievements of this Hindu nation.

Muslims were not allowed to act in films because most of the hindu audience was conservative, and would not be able to relate with a muslim actor. That is why muslims were told to have hindu names.
