PESHAWAR - Differences between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have deepened further over the issue of separating some development authorities from provincial local bodies department that is run by the latter.
The JI's Provincial Minister Inayatulla Khan runs the local government department, which was given to him after the PTI openly denied to hand over education department to the JI that was promised to it earlier. That denial first time developed cracks in the ruling alliance in the province.
However, later the JI was convinced to get the ministry of local government. However, this time, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has reportedly directed the authorities concerned to prepare a summary to separate all developmental authorities from the local government department. This new move on part of CM Khattak has developed a new controversy as well as annoyed the JI too that is seriously thinking as how to tackle the situation, it is obviously not ready to fulfil the PTI's demand easily.
The PTI wants to separate PDA, Rural Development Authority (RDA) and several other authorities from the provincial local government department through an executive order. In this regard, the PTI-led government prepared a summery and it was ready to be moved to the Chief Minister. However, Inayatullah Khan reportedly intervened and openly opposed the plan and stopped the summary.
He reportedly said that it would be an injustice with local government department if different developmental authorities are separated from the department that he runs. It is not as easy as it is thought by the government to separate development authorities from the local government ministry through an executive order. For this purpose, the government would have to use proper forum, which is the provincial assembly.
Sources said that JI would oppose any such move through which authority or power of the local govt department, which has been awarded to the JI in place of education department, are limited or reduced. The JI would come with strategy once any bill is tabled properly in the provincial assembly. It has been learnt that PTI is interested to separate development authorities from local government department so that it can run the affairs of that authorities by the advisors or special assistants to the chief minister.
Differences between PTI, JI deepen
JI was against Pakistan's creation and history has also shown that they disrupt Merit in many institutions.. I really don't understand why it is necessary for a lot of parties in Pakistan to try and bring them in alliance. Its just suicide.
