Did China Just Render America's $1 Trillion Stealth Fighter Program Obsolete?

Americans and their lapdogs must be cowering in fear now

it's depend on situation

so are the so called stealth technology is rendered Obsolete like the OP articles stated?

I didn't state anything being obsolete, all I said given enough time human are capable develop a system to counter other system, nations spent hundred of billions dollars to develop stealth aircraft but the anti stealth technology wouldn't require as much to develop. Since engineering already know the parameter for the stealth jet avoid radar detection, the same engineer will be able to advance and improve on the old radar technology to slightly increase the chance stealth aircraft being detect then the purpose of staying stealth will be defeated.

. .
Stealth technology is over 20 yrs old, give other nation with military industry enough time they will effectively counter stealth in future, technology advance with time with no weapon can indefinitely be unmatch or effectively counter.

Only weapons can not be stop are nuclear bomb, nothing matter compare to nuke.

Not this 'passive radar' nonsense again...As if I have not effectively debunked this several times over...

This article is just another example of a slow news day by a staff writer under pressure to fill a blank area.

Americans and their lapdogs must be cowering in fear now
No...But we are laughing. Is that good enough ?

Did China Just Render America's $1 Trillion Stealth Fighter Program Obsolete?

As DefenseNews.com recently revealed, China has a new device that may be able to track Lockheed's F-35 fighter with "passive" radar detection technology. Dubbed the DWL002, China's equipment can apparently detect stealth aircraft at distances of up to 400 kilometers -- and 600 kilometers for larger "stealth" targets -- processing "pulse, frequency agility, pulse duration, tactical air navigation system, distance measuring equipment, jitter/stagger radar, and identification friend or foe" signals emitted by the otherwise stealthy aircraft to determine its location.

To be clear, DWL002 is not an active radar system itself. As International Assessment and Strategy Center senior fellow Richard Fisher explains "Passive systems like these simply listen for any electronic emission," identifying an aircraft without having to ping it with an active radar transmitter. As such, whether or not the F-35 is itself invisible to "radar" may be a moot point.

China can "see" it anyway.

Don't we have already have DWL002 thread in the other sub forum? Why make another thread of it? Plus, this is China Military Gadget, I think you put it at the wrong room. I suggest @mods to delete this thread because it just a repost of another same topic in different sub forum.

Don't Lie, You're scared already.

Oh, no!!! A passive radar!!! Well damn, our F-35s, B-2s, F-22s, China's J-20 and J-31, our stealth drones, Russia and India's FGFA, they're all obsolete!!!

Oh, wait... this is neither new, unexpected or unplanned for my friend. The Russians have been using passive radars for years, the Duga-3 (or for those that like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games, the Brain Scorcher) is a very well known example. We, the US, already know about these, similar Russian systems and modern Chinese one's... we plan for them and ourselves own some. Do you honestly think we are oblivious to passive radars?

what they dont know is that US do not plan to use its high tech fighters against formidable foes China, Russia, India, UK, Aussie or European, Their high tech plane are for us against weaker smaller technically backward countries like Iraq, Lybia, Syria, Yogoslavia etc.

Passive radars are nothing new. Russians excel at them.
They have been around for decades now and have detected stealth fighters. As a matter of fact so have active radars.

The presumption that passive radars will be able to detect stealth fighters at sufficient ranges to ward off the fighters mission is a fallacy.

I loved the game STALKER.

But I thought the original Russian novel (Roadside Picnic) was even better. It's now one of my favorite books.
