Dictatorship can't make Pakistan secular: YLH

Pakistanis don't want thier country to be a traditional secular state - end this line of thinking, This conversation should end

respect the wishes of our people, this is something that majority of our people agree on, most don't want to be a traditional secular state

I used to believe in a secularist state but I believe Pakistani people and their wishes comes first, we are fine, our current constitution and laws (except for blasphemy) are fine need some tweaking

If our educated classes our genuine, they should focus on strengthening our democracy- even if results are tlp or Jui- F presidents or Prime Ministers,

(preferably a Pakistan centric presidential system, rule of law)

This should be our focus not trying to politically suppress majority of our people by turning our nation into a traditional secular state- when our system reflects the wishes of Pakistani people, it incentivizes them to protect it

This

“Pakistani army is structurally different from the Turkish army because it was not involved in the struggle to build Pakistan. A lawyer politician schooled in British parliamentary tradition, not a military general, founded Pakistan. There is no other way but for parliamentary democracy and civilian supremacy in Pakistan.”

Sums it all up

That Pakistan created by a lawyer politician died in 1971. What we have today is the distinctive creation of a despotic dictator, Army and all. This is what sums it up for the present day: there is no more room for democracy and civilian supremacy left in this Pakistan, except on the façade.

Exactly this.

Secularism, democracy, all this is just being shoved down Pakistanis throats. Most people if they weren't constantly being bombarded with democracy democracy democracy, actually didn't even care when being told the army and intelligence had involvement in politics.

They always knew and believed it - they only care now because the regime operation and removing Khan is something they are all against and see is an insult to them.

Pakistan needs to adopt shariah law to over come this economic and societal disaster.
We have shariat law in place. Our laws never contravene shariat when it comes to common or criminal law related issues. In matters of corporate/finance and trade laws, the country aligns with the prevailing laws around the world.

No it can't. Only propagation can.

The Shah failed because he tried to enforce it rather than propagate it. We have to win over the people.

However the use force such as in the case of Musharraf was a good example in the sense that when these mullahs tried to use violent intimidation to enforce their desires, they were dealt with accordingly with brute force.
