Dhaka vs Kolkata

I thought this is going to be a good thread.. But no.. Some of these Bangladeshis just had to pull up their lungis...

1. Maharashtra, India - 19 Million - TheRichest

Above they say maharashtra is the largest slum.

And here comes the think tank!!

Maharashtra is a state with an area more than 300,000 sq km. And that entire thing is a slum ? Do you have any possible idea, how big that area is ? Seriously, think, for a change...

I don't know why it is on top either. Go hound the writer of said piece not me. Orangi too has some good areas as well which would make me question it being listed there at all. The problem with Orangi still is however that its inhabitants have a very backward, ethnic mindset. They are most likely to be and at times have been vulnerable to indocrination and hatred from ethnic fascists.

So what? Rabindranath was a Bangladeshi by default.Have you heard the song 'Aji Bangladesher hridoy hote............Tomar duar aji khule geche sonar Mandire................' Which country he was referring in this song you suppose?:azn:

If Rabindranath lived upto 1972 then he obviously taken Bangladeshi citizenship and lived here just like Kazi Nazrul Islam. He may lived in Kolkata for the sake of work, but his thought was always in Bangladesh. So you can tell him a 'Bangladeshi in waiting.':-)

I want to ask @Rain Man what he thinks about Kazi Nazrul. He is Indian or Bangladeshi? They even made an airport and University in his name who opted to become Bangladeshi. On the other hand we only took Rabindranth's song as national anthem and made an university in his name. Nothing more. We are calling him in this forum Bangladeshi so these hollow head Indians started crying foul that we may claim his Nobel prize as well. They are not understanding what its an honor for a man if offered nationality by other countries. If Tagore was alive he would take it regardless. We also gave nationality to Muhammed Ali which he accepted happily. I think these Indians dont born as human rather as Indian.

First, 'British India' was India, just like the way "British America' was America, 'French Canada' was Canada, and 'Qing China' was China.

Second,
lakhs of people who crossed over to Bangladesh after partition are Bangladeshis,
lakhs of people who crossed over to Pakistan after partition are Pakistanis, and
lakhs of people who crossed over to India after partition are Indians.

Is it too difficult to understand?

For example, some of the present politicians like L.K. Advani, Nawaz Sharif and Parvez Musharraf are Indian and Pakistanis respectively, irrespective of their places of birth.

And Rabindranath Thakur, he was not even born in what is present day Bangladesh, he was born in British ruled India, Kolkata to be specific, and he died in British ruled India, again Kolkata to be specific, as an Indian. :sarcastic:

Only Kazi Nazrul Islam's case is a bit different, Bangladesh requested Kazi Nazrul Islam to take Bangladeshi citizenship, because Bangladesh barely had any notable figures left after the partition and later after their liberation, the poet took Indian government's permission before accepting Bangladeshi citizenship....so, only Kazi Nazrul Islam was both Indian and Bangladeshi. Btw, he was born in Churulia, West Bengal, India though, by your own logic he should only be an Indian! :pleasantry:

Okay.. in case you did not know, Maharashtra is a state, more than twice the size of England. Orangi town is a place in Karachi. Maharashtra has many districts and big cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nasik etc. etc.
It will make some what of a sense if we compare Dharavi, in Mumbai with Orangi town, not the state itself. In any case, I don't understand why we are bringing Orangi here, which has got nothing to do with this thread in the first place.

We disparage the foreign made artificial boundary. WB is inseparable part of Bangladesh. Do whatever you like.

When we read the literature of Rabindranath,Sharat chandra,Bankim Chandra,Micheal Madhusudan Dutta,Jibananda Das, we find hardly any mention of India, but plenty to Bengal or Bangladesh. So it never cross to our mind that those literates were anything other than Bengali and Bangladeshi. In no textbook it is written that Rabindranath was born in India,it is always written that they were born in Kolkata or Hoogly. So when we read or hear about them we never think them as an Indian but Bangladeshi. You can ask any student in BD whether those writer were Indian or Bangladeshi, they will always say Bangladeshi and would be surprised if revealed to them about those writer being Indian. This is how things in BD.

If it's a self-confessed troll thread by the OP, is there any reason in keeping it alive? @waz @Jango @Slav Defence

As a Bengali (that too a Bangal) I have a right to troll hypersensitive Bangladeshis!! :D @waz @Jango @Slav Defence

And the point is?

We disparage the foreign made artificial boundary. WB is inseparable part of Bangladesh. Do whatever you like.

That's because they were Bengalis like you, but your forefathers put their religion before their ethnicity and separated, hence the confusion. :)

Its all very subjective. Specially when each slum region has some areas which are perfectly wealthy or dominated by the middle class. Orangi town has such areas as well. Maharashtra as a state too has some slum regions and some wealthy regions. I don't know how they included the entire state in there. From the pictures Dhaka too has done well since its old days. Places like Korail now have access to water and plumbing making it not a slum anymore. As regions develop the slum dwellers.

My family in Lucknow actually lives in what is called a slum by some but are pretty affluent and have progressed well. Its called chowk and is near a police chowki. It is not necessary that a resident of a slum is poor while it is also debated what constitutes a slum.

Come on, you might be an Indian, but I'm sure educated enough to understand the flawed logic in your analogy! ;)

He means someone abducted his wife made lots of child then returned her and renamed her as well. Then full family lived happily ever after with new born and new name. No offense :p:

What do you think the figure is ? 10 million ? 15 million ? I cannot say something is wrong until I know what is right.

I can see many Bangladeshis here, everyday. and I have no reason to tell you otherwise. While I have nothing against Bangladeshis in general, illegal immigration creates certain bit of problem for our society.
The men work in lowly paid jobs like constructions, daily wage earners, the women work as house maids and in some cases prostitutes. Mumbai, specially is full of Bangladeshi prostitutes.

1. It becomes difficult to track them. They don't have any identification.
2. Their income cannot be made taxable..
3. They are in search of livelihood, which sometimes leads to crime. a lot many cases I know where illegal immigrants are involved.
4. Destabilization of the society. We don't have unlimited resources to feed every mouth that decides to jump across the border.
5. Then we have vote bank politics being played with these people. Some corrupt political leader will come and give them Voter ID Card, if they vote for him. There you go, a few thousand more on top of the 1.2 billion population.

How many people do you think pay tax in India ? It's tax money of people like me that runs the country, and I would not like to see it being wasted.

We already took more than 10 million of them when they were getting slaughtered by the the Punjabi-Pakistani forces. Some of them came after '71 too. Most probably, your family is one among them. It's about time that process comes to an end.
There were some Bangladeshis in this thread, earlier, who started with comparing Dhaka with Kolkata in terms of economy, a childish thing to begin with, for the economic indicators are crystal clear. They ended up comparing with Mumbai and thereby the entire state of Maharashtra, which comprises of other big cities like Pune, Nasik, Nagpur, Satara, Solapur, etc. etc. - total insanity, again, the economic indicators are crystal clear.

Well, if there has been such a remarkable progress and so many job opportunities there then I think it is about time these keyboard warriors call their brethren back to where they belong, instead of wasting their time here.
Fooling nobody but themselves, insulting their own country men. Cheap..

Only if your mother had sent you to a decent school for specially abled.
Who do you think wrote that ? Do you have any idea what PwC is and what is the difference between a Wordpress blog and that report ? Why don't you just keep yourself limited to the stupid & funny section ?

Most of the Bangladeshi female workers were lied to in their home country but when they go there the reality is different, most of the prostitute workers are also Hindu. In Dhaka, Daulatdia, there is a brothel and most of the sex workers are Hindu girls. Can be easily told by the dot/vermilion.

source is a blog !!!

Must be the magical Modi numbers.

What part PwCblog is a blog you don't understand ?

Why don't you look at the publisher name of the PDF file (it is at the bottom of each page).

Hosting on a blog does not change the reliability of a source material published by a reputable financial group.

According to you, if scanned images of original Quran was posted to a blog, suddenly you should not believe it?

WB is inseparable part of Bangladesh. Do whatever you like.

Then come and get it then! See what happens!

Dude I want my b*tch wife back whats itching you, Tamil Indian? How long will you keep her?

Your wife left Bangladesh because of you I would imagine? She's not with me though, who knows where :azn:.

I guess both her and WB have been permanently separated from Bangladesh....and you can keep dreaming about getting them back in your fantasies :p:. Sad for you!:cray:
