You mean India should stop exporting cotton with the second largest rmg producer in the world? your cotton farmers would starve to death and there would be communal riots. Last time you stopped exporting cotton, you didn't even last a week, your poor hungry farmers went bonkers. Best of luck, clueless Indian.

While I do not share zip's enthusiasm to ban cotton exports to Bangladesh(posted above), about 10 million bales are exported and most of it goes to China. If India stops export, the repercussions are that there will be a price rise in cotton internationally as proven in the last 2 years and China/India will benefit in the RMG sector and Bangladesh will lose out. The domestic RMG manufacturers always have complained that the exports are affecting cotton prices in India. Now the farmers benefit due to export to an extent but if the exports are not possible, then the domestic RMG will be able to buy cotton at lower prices and compete very well internationally.

We should export cotton only to pakistan ..i propose zero export of cotton to bangladesh ..all textile mills will spin back from banglades ..they will be left with only ship breaking oh sorry ship building industry ..

Starving ! ! And communal riots !! I dont waste my time on such garbage ..Bangladesis sounds like they have monopoly in this sector ..real thing is because of quota provided to them from western countries their textile industry recording positive growth .. Theirs is 10 to 15 billion textile industry(constitutes76% of total industrial export..one can imagine the status of other industries in banglades) compared to indias 60 billion textile industry ..and they are warning us about starvation !!!
