Guys China is a time-tested friend of Bangladesh, especially as a defence supplier and economic investor.

Most Bangladeshi folks (including Businessmen of all walks and capabilities that I know) - do not have issues with Chinese commoners and businessfolks from that country.

While some folks (here in PDF, and whatever background and nationality) have issues with actions of Chinese Govt., Belt and Road etc., Bangladeshis by and large do not have issues with Chinese investments and investors. Chinese govt. is also providing easy term loans to improve infra (ports, bridges, roads, railways) in our country so we can export products from export zones. There are few other countries who are capable of doing this - including our large neighbor country.

Our people need good paying jobs and they need to EAT.

You cannot take the high road and philosophize on an empty stomach.

One of our famous poets said, "In the state of hunger, the world is full of prose, the moon is like scorched bread".

I do not understand how we can bad mouth China here in PDF and cause Chinese Govt. to halt its geo-strategic actions of interest to them. They will keep doing what they have done because it is important to them, us bad mouthing them (whether here in PDF or in any media) will not stop it.

No, China is not a friend of BD. BD and China have just commercial relationship. China does not send us weapons free of cost. The interest rates of Chinese loan is very high. 3% or more. They provide loans and their companies get the design and construction contracts.

How much China spent to support Rohingya in BD? It is zero money. The US has donated about 2 billion dollars. Many other countries helped but not China.

China became an elephant physically but remains a frog as it has been for the last few centuries. It is after other countries’ Seas, lands, mines and Ports.

It is an international Pariah country and should be discarded by others that includes Bangladesh.

China wants BD to become another North Korea ruled by one family without fair elections and democracy.

So, China cannot sanction BD because it is against the long term goal of China. A family dictatorship in BD is the Chinese goa, another North Korea. Burma has almost become one such country.

BD's political path has nothing to do with China. China does not want to intervene in Bangladesh. Probably as president of democratic China I would ask Bangladesh to sign a Plaza Accord. if you want.

Actually US and Japan are only good at lip service, why their share in BD is so tiny even less than Hong kong's? The fact that they don't risk their investment in BD itself shows how confident they are about the country.
