In a Historic mega scam, DHA Karachi overnight announced and converted 228 residential plots to commercial plots in the Beach Avenue area of DHA Phase 8 and issued the letter to the owners confirming the same the very next day (April 10,2015) .
A month before this announcement few DHA officials in collusion with 2 notorious investors secretly bought many of these plots which were residential at that time and made windfall profit of around Rs. 1 Billion in just one week upon the announcement of their commercialization.
Most interestingly this major change of ownership of plots occurring a month before the announcement of the conversion is quite documented. Real Estate brokers are asking the question that how so many deals occurred in a narrow strip of 228 plots just in a month before the announcement?
DHA Karachi– No Longer a safe place for investment?
This unprecedented act of overnight conversion of plots has never happened in the history of DHA Karachi. This planned scam resulted in the loss of billions to the ordinary citizens who have plots facing these newly converted commercial plots. Their plot values have already reduce to half and soon they will see multistory buildings destroying their privacy and the value of their plots reducing to less than quarter.It has exposed DHA and made the whole vicinity insecure. The day is near when someone living in a house on Khayaban-e-Tariq or Khayaban-e-Hilal will wake up to find that his house value erased by one fourth and also when we will witness the plight of a plot owner on Khayaban-e-Muslim or Khayaban-e-Ghalib who kept all his retirement savings in the only plot in DHA being robbed of his hard earned life time savings by some corrupt DHA officers.
Army’s all time highest Public image at risk by few DHA Karachi officers.
This is a time when Pakistan army is involved in eliminating terrorism from Pakistan and the brave soldiers of the Country are busy defending it on all fronts. Whether it is operation Zarb-e-Azb or Karachi operation, the people of Pakistan are all united with the Pakistan army. At a time where army’s image and approval from the citizens is the all-time highest since 1947, a small group of self-centered DHA officials are busy damaging it for their personal petty gains. DHA Karachi is a place where a large population of intellectuals and opinion makers live and such petty acts of DHA are resulting in placing a heavy cost on the overall image of Pakistan army.
