Looks like nobody is interested in giving input here...This has to be very important and the first serological test results happening on the planet, which should have been breaking news on all major news channels and papers by now.This is about billions of people in distress and collapse of world economy.Except a few channels/papers i didnt see many covering it.

Flu also develops along a fairly predetermined path , covid-19 can display symptoms today (in some instances) and you would be DEAD 24 hrs later in an ICU while being ventilated. The path in some, from symptom to death is very fast and very steep.
We can mediate with various medications in the case of Flu with some success, we know of no mediating medication for covid-19. Current evidence is even pointing to ventilation as a contributing factor in morbidity.

It probably somewhat similar to how they found putting US soldiers on blood tranfusion right away (after blood loss) worsened their condition in many cases w.r.t Vietnam war deployment.

Later the mechanism was found that its too much positive pressure in many cases that prevented (beneficial) micro-clotting.

With corona's case, the cytokine response (that leads to most terminal lung inflammations that bring ventilator stage to begin with) is still being researched and its early days on it. So very well it could be postive air pressure (from ventilator) interferes with bodies own beneficial response in-situ in the lung....in some cases.
