Iran Heavy Diesel Manufacturing Company (DESA) started its activity from 1993 according to its constitution in the following fields:
- Management in construction of industrial factories for production of different kinds of diesel engine and its by-products such as land, railway and industrial engines and preparing for exploitation in railway and electricity industries, generators, motor powers and in any industrial, manufacturing and service fields.
- Importing machinery, tools, raw materials, or any authorized good for factories and manufacturing sections
- Exporting, selling and after-sales services for company products
- Technical designing and engineering with the services, consultancy
- Assigning and obtaining internal and international agency
- Investment, Partnership, and authorized activities in the work scope.

This company, enjoying cooperation of skilled and expert personnel who have been trained in the most famous and leading companies of the world in this field such as MAN, RUSTON, WARTSILA, AFS, … for assembly, test, repair and maintenance, installation and commissioning, … and also with having the necessary manufacturing halls, equipment, workshop and laboratories, is capable to produce the average speed engines with 500 to 4000 KW output power and high speed engines with 200 to 2000 KW output power for different applications like railway, power plant, dual fuel, etc
