Dell’s obsession with InfinityEdge displays continues, as after the new 2-in-1 XPS 13, the company has announced a monitor which utilizes the same design language for its new monitor.

Called the new Ultrathin S2718D, the 27-inch monitor comes with “the world’s overall thinnest profile” though its feature set extends beyond that claim. The display, which has a lower footprint than other displays in its category. will be useful in desks with scarce space.

For starters, it comes with a QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, with 99% coverage of the sRGB color gamut. Dell claims the monitor has a viewing angle of 178-degree. To further help, the display can also be adjusted on the stand and tilted and swiveled.

The 27” Ultrathin also comes with support for HDR (though it isn’t the same standard followed in 4K TVs), but no G-Sync. Refresh rate is set at 60Hz, while the response time is 6ms. You get up to 400 nits of brightness as well as 1000:1 contrast ratio.

The monitor has support for USB-C connectivity, HDMI 2.0 and 3.5mm audio-out, all of which can be accessed from the base. One thing which could’ve used a bit more effort is the base itself, which looks a bit clunky in the overall picture.

Pricing is set at $700 and the display can be grabbed come the last week of March. At that price, you can get a bunch of options with even higher-res. monitors, although finding one with a lower footprint and which looks just as good will be difficult.
