Also, India approached UN in 1947 and UN recommended for a plebiscite based upon the condition that both nations withdraw their forces.
Indian promise of plebiscite was not unconditional, it was conditional on peaceful environment in Kashmir with army out of the area. Pakistan never withdrew their forces and let Pashtoon to settle in Kashmir hence no plebiscite is possible.
And yes, Taiwan and Kashmir are politically similar for China and India respectively.
Answer this, will China like to join any organization that even so hints at legitmacy of Taiwan as a separate country or as genuine government of whole of China?
