Defining Our Relationship with India for the Next Century: by U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson

Semi literate (! illiterate) people see no religion associated with English but Islam with Urdu or Arabic.

However my Diwali was quite Mubarak this time as always. :)

There is no dearth of such people in either of color: orange and green. Just few minutes back, I read some Iqbal Ali giving no damn to diwali celebration in Pakistan as its hindu festival.
There is no harm in being indifferent to another religion's festivals...as long as one doesn't hate it. Just live and let live basically.

Only hate can make you indifferent to something 1/7 of humanity cherish and celebrate. Rest, rather than posting of giving a no damn, simply wishes Happy Diwali and move on.

You don't show of indifference by posting and telling you are indifferent. By that means one show his hate. :)

You both are sitting in Afghanistan to target Balochistan.
You are shipping terrorists to Pakistan.
Every weapon discovered from BLA, Isis, TTP is made in India, US or Israel.
It was India who was behind 'mukti bahini' it was India who was behind 'Tamil Tigers' its India who's behind BLA, TTP and other libtards, mediamen and sectarian mulla and fighters.

1. We are sitting in Afghanistan to save them from Taliban terrorists. These Taliban terrorists were assest of US but now other country. You know what I mean to say.
2. CPEC - Indian concern only that it's goes to disbutes territory and some security concerns about Chinese present in south Asia.
3. Mukti bahini - yes, we supported them because Bangladesh was suffering. Refugees were in India and it was big problem for India
4. Tamil Tigers - yes, initially India supported them and later Srilanka supported them against India peace maker. This was mistake by both countries.
5. BLA, ttp and others organisations are self created by pakistan. If you spreads terrorists in regions then you can't be a Safe country. Rest are just proagenda against India and US.

Well I'm just saying that keep an open mind...maybe he is indifferent...he definitely didn't tell u that he hates Diwali. If u r going to derive the negative meaning then u will hate him for hating Diwali(which may not even be true) or something like that. Think positive basically

Indo-US strategic partnership (ie. alliance) is already a fact.

All these statements or lectures are for conditioning the masses and some non-aligned movement adherents in India.

The fundamental question is not whether there is/will be an Indo-US alliance. No.

The heart of the matter is whether it is going to be truly an Asian Century shaped and led by Asians or is it going to be an extension of imperial thrust of post-colonial forces.

How many countries are there in Asia which can truly claim to be independent?

Only China comes to mind.

There are Three declared nuclear powers in Asia.

All three bonded together by history and borders. What a shame that these three together can't assure security in Asia. Hence, the troublemakers will keep coming for a while.

This containment of China business is not going to deliver any fruits for the Asian states....only for the those far away.

Why Peace, Co-existence and Shared Prosperity so difficult for the three oldest civilisations on the planet is beyond comprehension.

Sad.

That's strange why it would be a Hindu/Muslim issue for those living outside India/Pak. Usually I find that Hindus/Muslims of India/Pak get along well here.

You have not met the BJP supporter abroad. He is a rabid version of the home territory thing. Really awful.

I don't think you are right in saying that only China is independent, in Asia. Far from it. We were far more independent in our foreign policy until this recent change of government.

Perhaps, Herr Professor, perhaps.

The independent FP of your good country was some achievement in the past. The entire Global South respected you for that.

Recall what your Gov of the time thought about Vietnam?

However, you are perhaps right in your observation that current state of affairs in India point to different direction.

Perhaps masses want this.... it is a global virus really. Let us keep a watchful eye on this disease.

For now, however, China is truly only single Sovereign and Independent country in Asia.

Take good care.

Mangus

He is intellectually challenged but not vicious. His besetting problem is a schoolboy tendency to use minor abuse against opponents, every one of them being 'idiot', or 'fool' or something to that effect. On this, I think he intended to convey his steadfastness and loyalty to tauheed by proudly proclaiming his indifference to any other system of faith. In my opinion, these effusions need to be dealt with by a sigh and turning to the next post. He is a bhakt but a pale green one.

My reading of the situation, Sir, is layered.

Even when our government spoke out most robustly against US policy, the bulk of our middle classes were disposed favourably towards the US, mainly seeing it as an alternative to Great Britain. There is inherent goodwill towards other countries in this segment. In recent elections, the elected government had no specific mandate to reach out to the US; in any case, such a reaching out had been done already, previously, and the barely polite days of the Indo-US relationship were already over. What the BJP did was not to reach out so much as to

  • ease the pain of the incumbent PM having been personally banned, a humiliating step against a hyper-sensitive man;
  • to build an alternative to supply defence products, as the former Soviet Union sank into greater and greater confusion;
  • to take increasing US disenchantment with Pakistani sponsorship of terrorists and terrorist movements; to de-hyphenate the Pakistan-India relationships in the eyes of the US;
All this without a specific mandate from the people; this was set as government policy, and so far, nobody seems to find it distasteful.

now, however, China is truly only single Sovereign and Independent country in Asia.

Take good care.

Mangus

Empathy rather than indifference should be the norm. Sadly, indifference has become a substitute for a mild way of showing contempt.

Why shall I be indifferent to other's happiness? Why not be a part of it? World is changing so fast, logic has become more technical in nature.
