Since 2004, when Russia joined the G8 program for helping poor countries, it contributed 1.5 billion dollars for the international aid, he added.

Specifically, Russia donated 21 million dollars for control and eradication of tropical diseases in Africa and Central Asia. Also Russia contributed 20 million dollars for fighting malaria in Africa.
