Alis stated that Turkey aims to rise to 6th place in export after the USA, Russia, Germany, France and Britain. According to the statement made, Chairman Alis stated that the sector initiated a great move as the result of correct policies of Turkey, in which private sector also contributes.

Stating that reverse brain drain has a huge significance in peculiar and high technology production of Turkey, Alis indicated also that Defense and Aerospace Industries Exporters' Association is the most rapidly growing exporters' association of Turkey. Alis continued saying that Defense and Aerospace Industry needs unmanned and effective devices and vehicles, which includes electronic war systems, support systems, logistics services, R&D, software, engineering and manufacturing services.

Alis stated that Defense and Aerospace Industry is promising for Turkey and Turkey has to focus on export, not only import in this field. Alis emphasized that being focused on export helps Turkey compete in international area and develop original projects. He also mentioned that the sectoral export increased to 832 million dollars by 70% in January-August period of 2012, and it will reach 1.5 billion dollars at the end of the year, stating that export potential is much higher than before right now in Turkey.

u forgot China that would shift ur aim to 7th position...

Anyways best of luck Turkey...:D

. . .
enjoy being not sanctioned

Almost All World countries are free to trade among eachothers but How many of them are able to develop own warships, attack helicopters, missiles, strategic UAV's, aircrafts, tanks, howitzers... ? No need to mention the share (almost 0) of gas and oil incomes at Turkey's economical power.

hey guys, please calm down, my mean is both sides, It's a good news to hear turkey is making progress, congratulation, enjoy your progress.
Everyone has a different point of view for improvement, so I think you both have right.

From what I see, Turkey is going to have a great future. Maybe many here hate Erdogan for his external policy, but no one can deny his unprecedented and great achievements in all fields within a decade.

You also know well that We always give the national contribution rates When We are talking about our programs and Any Turkish members never mentioned a program as %100 Turkish because It is needless and difficult but You loose my point. What I am talking about is that "Being not under sanction" isn't mean that The countries making free trade with eachother can easily develop everything they want, While sanctioned Iran is developing the toys on her own thanks to impressive engineering/technological level... If It was true, Every country in World making free trades without any sanctions, have own tanks, missiles, warships, radars...etc and Nobody orders any foreign systems and develop on her own with a simple cooperation even If they have "0" knowledge and technology....

Making cooperation in global world is as normal as drinking water. USA, Europe and Russia are also doing it. The most important thing is being able to develop and manufacture the strategic systems/devices/softwares/missiles as much as possible.

Turkish Land Systems have reached aprox. %85-90 national contribution rates, With National Powerpack engine projects, National contribution will be increased aprox. %95-99 avarage...

Current National contribution for Milgem corvette is %70, With domestic Atamca anti-ship missiles, torpedo defence system, Akya torpedos and other subsystems, This rate will be increased up to %90's.

For T-129 Atak, Almost all electronics, fuselage, transmissions, rotors, missiles are manufactured by Turkey.

Don't forget that Even If you make trade/cooperations with an X country, Nobody gives strategic technologies and production materials Even If you pay. It is about your own technological level and engineering capabilities...

.
I think that the sanctions can also be an advantage because without decision-makers have to decide between cheaper foreign made stuff or expensive development on your own. Once Iran will get the rid of those Mullahs it will prosper.

.
After Altay, we will have very major and quality products to export, APCs, Altay Tank, National assault rifle, ANKA, Milgem, etc. After 2018 will be real sharp increase.
