I have the terrible misfortune that I was never told that. Every time i asked this question to my parents, they simply said You are Pakistani and that is enough of a identity that i would ever need.

You have to remember the Persian were there in pakestan area 2500 years ago! When I visited Islamabad area a long time ago and the guide at Taxila showed our group a Persian fire temple (aatesh kadeh) in the main bazaar of Taxila from 2500 years ago!
