Czech Republic eyes investment in defence, other sectors in India

MUMBAI: Czech Republic companies are looking forward to invest in sectors like automobile, energy, infrastructure and defence in India, a top official from that country said today.

"We are looking at investment in sectors like automobile, energy and infrastructure and defence in India. Czech companies like Skoda Auto, Skoda Power, Bonatrans Group and Eldis are some of the companies that have plans to invest heavily in India," Czech Republic Ambassador to India Milan Hovorka told after opening its first Visa Application Centre (VAC) in India, in Mumbai with VFS Global.

A number of Czech companies are already engaged in automobile, energy, infrastructure and large industrial projects in India and are creating jobs here, he said.

Hovorka said the bilateral trade between the Czech Republic and India stood at $ 1.5 billion and that he would be more than keen to take bilateral relations to the next level.

I am neither blind nor dumb to not not accept that India has poor masses however, I am not narrow minded to think that my country cannot come over this situation with all the investments happening in my country. The so called wealth in the hands of a few billionaires if properly invested in my country, the weaker sections of our society get money to earn their bread and butter.

Skill development is another area we as a nation are progressing. You must check out this govt's progress before succumbing to your egos.
