Crackdown launched against Blackwater/Xe private security companies, 3 guards arrested

The federal police conducted a search operation against several security companies in different sectors of the capital after recovering of illegal arms from the house of an owner of a security company and arrested three security guards.
According to sources, the late night operation was conducted by the police after getting red signal from the interior ministry.
The late night raids on other security companies were made after large cache of arms were seized from a company providing security to US diplomats. The police during the raid inquired about details of licenses of arms.
Kohsar Police has also arrested three security guards of security company on suspicion.
Sources told that the Interior Ministry after recovering of illegal arms in huge quantity from the owner of house of Inter-Risk Security Company has decided to conduct a survey of hiring 200 residential buildings by US embassy. Sources said that the decision has been taken to know objectives behind hiring these houses.
Meanwhile US Embassy spokesman Rick Snelsire said the US contract with Inter-Risk to provide security at the embassy and consulates took effect this year. It is believed to be the first US contract for the firm, Snelsire said. He did not know how long the contract was for or what it was worth.
“Our understanding is they obtained licenses with whatever they brought into the country to meet the contractual needs,’’ he said. “We told the government that we had a contract with Inter-Risk.’’
A man who answered the phone number listed for the company and identified himself as Riaz Hussain said a raid had occurred, but gave no more information.
According to Inter-Risk’s website, it was first formed in 1988 and offers wireless home alarm systems as well as security guards and other services.
Though the US Embassy in Islamabad does have American security staff, much of the work is done by local workers. At checkpoints and gates leading to the embassy compound, for instance, Pakistani security guards inspect vehicles and log in visitors.
Scandals involving private contractors have dogged the United States in the Middle East and South Asia.
In Washington on Friday, the Commission on Wartime Contracting heard testimony about another contractor – ArmorGroup North America – involving alleged illegal and immoral conduct by its guards at the US Embassy in Afghanistan.
Earlier this year, the Iraqi government refused to grant Xe Services – the new name for what was once Blackwater – an operating license amid continued outrage over a 2007 lethal firefight involving some of its employees in Baghdad, although the State Department has temporarily extended a contract with a Xe subsidiary to protect US diplomats in Iraq.
Many of the recent rumors in Pakistan have been prompted by US plans to expand its embassy space and staff.
Among the other unsubstantiated stories the United States denies: that 1,000 US Marines will land in the capital, and that Americans will set up a Guantanamo-style prison

there are many houses in Peshawar I know.who to report???

Try to contact anyone you know who works for the government or is associated with a political party or a journalist.

Government

If that doesnt work then organize a protest.

We must do what we can to protect Pakistan's sovereignity.

i dont think American embassy is protected by security agencies of pakistan(the news does not say anything related to blackwater or xe security agency people being arrested - contrary to the title of the thread).....and the article just shifts from some pakistan's security agency people getting arrested to some stuff in iraq for no reason???????????????????????????

American embassy should b closed in pakistan and all its diplomates should b expelled from our country.:azn:

Everybody knows about these houses. I also saw Backwater Vehicle in university town area. And you know what when that Black water vehicle reached Iqra chowk the Traffic warden clear teh road for BW Car. Reporting is good thing when you believe that who you are reporting will do something about it. The police is involved. They wont even hear you.

How they come to Pakistan on the first place... they are there because they had been issued visas by Pakistan embassies.

Only solution to this problem is fire all the staff whihc has been appointed or promoted by present govt. in any sector and emmbassies would be a good starting point and than police.

on the issue i doubt black water or any of its covert subsidaries are in Pakistan for big military operation against al-qaeeda etc... they are simply here to consolidate Zardari govt. and to take out key personals and provoke sectarian killings things like burning churches etc.

Dangerous part is that they had been come in from quite some time using chartered planes and at airport they were whisked away by police without checking of their baggage and visa stamps. In other words we can only capture those who came in legally but it would be difficult to locate the uncontrolled entries.
I also have reservations that they are closely associated with indian agencies to cross border and get reinforcements in time of need.

Before any major operation Blackwater personals / employees are injected by some medicaments and they become ruthless animals.
Some cases has started to appear.... for example barbarity at Haddita in iraq where US soldiers were later framed was infact carried out by Black water squad of course under the influence of medicament.
Emergence of death squad as new phenomenan to instigate sectarian violence has acheived great success in Iraq now its time to test it in NWFP.

Police raid US embassy-contracted security firm: dozens of unlicensed weapons impounded
ISHFAQULLAH SHAWL
ISLAMABAD (September 20 2009): Islamabad Police on Saturday raided a local private security firm hired by the US Embassy and impounded dozens of unlicensed weapons at a time when the private security contractor was under unusual scrutiny. Police have recovered 61 assault rifles and nine pistols in the raid besides arresting two employees of the Inter-Risk private security company, spokesman of Islamabad Police Rana Akram told a news conference here.

Reporters were also shown the disputed weapons. The spokesman said that the Kohsar Police received information about concealing of huge quantity of arms and ammunition in a house in F-6/1 sector, owned by the owner of Inter-risk security company. The police in league with Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration raided the house, where arms were seized.

Arms and ammunition were concealed in the servant quarter of the house, the spokesman said, adding that two persons Tauqeer Ahsan s/o Saif Ali resident of Narowal, Muhammad Khan s/o Sher Zaman resident of Fateh Jang were arrested during the raid. The nabbed persons revealed during the preliminary investigation that the recovered arms and ammunition are owned by Ali Jaffer Zaidi who is the owner of Inter-risk security company.

Giving details of the recovered weapons, the spokesman said that 61 repeater guns, nine 30 bore pistols, one 22 bore pistol and 545 rounds were recovered in raid. He said that during the search of another house (No 62) one 7mm rifle, one repeater, computer files, registers and other items were also recovered. No NOC or licenses of the weapons were presented while several rifles were also found tempered, he added.

Akram said police are investigating whether any other private security firms are using illegal weapons. Meanwhile, Business Recorder has learnt that law enforcement agencies have arrested the owner of Inter-Risk security company, Ali Jaffer Zaidi, a facilitator of notorious Blackwater World-wide.

Captain Zaidi, a retired officer of Special Services Group (SSG), an elite commando force of Pakistan Army was arrested from Islamabad office of his security company namely 'Care and Caring', intelligence sources told this scribe. They said that Captain Zaidi along with another Army retired officer Captain Bernard Masih had recruited more than 200 retired army officials mostly from SSG and they were being given special training at a recently established training camp at Rawat, in the outskirts of Islamabad.

Sources alleged that Captain Zaidi was recruiting army personnel and training them to use sophisticated weapons for notorious Blackwater. These trained personnel would be used by Blackwater programmes in Pakistan. They have been offered lucrative salaries and other perks and privileges and are being provided training for quick response against any target as per international standards, sources said.

Sources revealed that Blackwater is preparing a quick response force in Pakistan by hiring local people to meet its interests. Captain Bernard Masih, a retired Pakistan Army official from 10th corps, was stopped by Islamabad Police at Kashmir Highway a few days ago and sophisticated weapons were found from his car; high officials were informed about the cache and a SP ranked officer along with a contingent of police officials reached the spot and started inquiry but Bernard thrashed the SP and threatened him of dire consequences.

Later, the US Embassy in Islamabad contacted high government functionaries and demanded immediate termination of the SP of Islamabad Police, sources said, adding that the SP was transferred to Balochistan under heavy pressure from US officials.

When this scribe contacted the Islamabad Police for details of the incident, a well-placed official on condition of anonymity confirmed the incident saying that besides US officials some government functionaries also want a clean chit to Blackwater in the country.
Captain Bernard was released after phone calls from high government officials and was transferred to Balochistan. This situation has created a sense of insecurity among police and civilian administration, he said, adding that Blackwater wants easy movement of its officials and weapons without any hindrance. Sources also revealed that a few days back law enforcement agencies arrested Captain Zaidi but later released under heavy pressure.

call them from , far away of your home ,& with the land line only, no mobile use, dont give your original name, let them exactly, know the adresses of the houses.
thats the best you , can do !
dont go to police!
it will going to expose them, & they will run away , at least from your area!
