CPEC transformed into strategic partnership between Pakistan, China: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan has emphasized that China Pakistan Economic Corridor has transformed into a strategic partnership between Pakistan and China and encompasses more areas of cooperation. Addressing Pakistan China Investment Forum in Beijing today, he said CPEC that was considered a network of roads and a few power projects has blossomed into various areas of cooperation today.

He said a new area of that cooperation is agriculture that is backbone of our country. He said Chinese help in seed development and agriculture development will help increase our agricultural productivity manifold. It will also increase growth trajectory in order to improve the lifestyle of our people.

Imran Khan said we want to learn from Chinese expertise in information technology, artificial intelligence and other areas.

Imran Khan said the concern among all the participating countries in forum was on climate change and how to mitigate its adverse impacts. He said Pakistan is among one of the countries that have taken revolutionary steps to survive in the environment of climate change.Pakistan planted one billion trees to make the areas greener and to control the effects of changing climate.

Prime Minister said peace in Afghanistan will help increase connectivity between Pakistan and Central Asia and wider region.

He said we are now engaged in helping the peace process in Afghanistan.

Imran Khan said there is a prospect of peace in Afghanistan after many years and Pakistan is playing its part in bringing Taliban and Afghan government representatives to sit together to resolve this decades long conflict.

Referring to India, he said we hope that elections in the neighboring country are over soon and there is no incentive for Indian politicians to get votes on anti-Pakistan sentiment.

He said we want to build a civilized relationship with our Eastern neighbor and there is a possibility that if we can resolve the Kashmir issue through dialogue, things can improve.

Prime Minister invited Chinese businesspersons to visit Pakistan and explore the investment opportunities in various sectors.

He said the new government is giving incentives to Chinese businessmen and is also improving ease of doing business.

He said Pakistan has become a secure country thanks to efforts and sacrifices by our security forces and intelligence agencies.

Alhamdulillah..IK has further strengthened Pak-China relationship.
I remember how patwaris were spreading negative news about IK and CPEC before the elections but now they are dead like dead rats in tunnels

Actual fact was that IK put wrong foot steps in CPEC earlier and PMLN took advantage for that. But AlHumdUllah now things are getting clear and IK is moving in right direction but now we need to double the pace and we already lost our lots of valuable time. We need recovery plans

The PMLN used CPEC as a pet project IK at least is trying his best to refine it and expand on it CPEC is not just about roads only

Both China and Pakistan need to think of economic development first, and politics second.

We are both nuclear powers, we don't need to focus so much on the outside world, internal development must be the highest priority.

There will always be outside forces trying to destabilise us, today it might be the US and India, tomorrow it might be someone else. Internal strength is the most important kind of strength.

I actually see China-Pakistan alliance as similar to US-Israel strategic relationship. Whatever your view on the countries, their alliance has proven very useful & durable for both countries since the 1940s.

It has helped both of their goals, and similarly this will boost both China & Pak for decades to come.
