Courtesy of Mr. Gulzar (Chief Justice): Builders/Construction Association is halting WORK

stupid BC firoon judge

Why do I feel someone is trying to be way too oversmart?

I smell something fishy.

Another Angle @StormBreaker @S.Y.A @Mav3rick

Are you willing to have Karachi submerged in 2022 again? Are you willing to let millions suffer traffic jams on daily basis? A good precedent has been set lately that “sub chalta hai” is not going to be the case.

You start with the highest priority item and a building blatantly occupying road and houses occupying the main storm water drains (gujjar, mahmoodabad and korangi nala) happen to be high priority. By the way another building occupying road has already been demolished.

I am absolutely getting what you are saying....But residents should NOT be punished here...WHAT DID THEY DO?

Is SC not powerful enough to compensate them and JAIL the actual Culprits? Who are THEY AFRAID OF?

Kindly highlight the American news for us.

Mr Gulzar and his predecessors have been privileged by a damned law of this land which declares them God and that “Tauheen e Adalat” still exists in this country as if Adalat is the purest thing on Planet earth.

His statements “ Building ko bomb se ura do” or “Pooray karachi ki machinery le aao” indicates some personal grudge.

I wonder why Katti pahari, All goths surrounding Lyari Expressway, Sohrab goth, Extreme land grabbing on M-9 motorway still exists while these black coat goons run away when this topic comes up.

I echo your sentiments, bro...

See this - US News Urdu Version is also covering this. Afterall, Karachi is MAIN city of Pakistan. Only if it is given its due rights

. .
And this is what is not being done - hence Builders and Residents will there today at Nasla.

Comedy is nonstop here in Pakistan whether you see political parties or courts.
I am not against demolition of illegal structures but the way its being done is creating more issues

.
You have been heads over heels for development and progress in NA254. Did NA254 separate from Sindh presidency?
Where did I praise about sindh govt munnay? Bekar insaan

. . . . .
is NA254 in Sindh or not? separatists like you can only hide behind PTI for so long
Chozay sahab when did i praise sindh govt? quote me ya ja kar sojao munnay.

Exactly, bro.

Karachiites are fed up with encroachments. Everyone is in favor of demolishing but why the hell Middle Class is getting trampled in nonsense of Powerful Entities....

.
Chozay sahab when did i praise sindh govt? quote me ya ja kar sojao munnay.

Federal government cannot last a day without Sindh government.

The package rolled out to Karachi is from Sindhs money and under Sindh government's mandate.

So if development is being praised, it's credit is for Sindh government

It is painful. But the city cannot be allowed to rot. Or stop the matam next time it is submerged or when you are stuck in a traffic jam of our own making because you not willing to pay the price to fix it.

No doubt the weakness in decision is there in not dragging SBCA and other officials and squeezing the compensation out of their haram earned wealth. But as far as the building is concerned. It has to go.

You obviously did not read my initial post; the SC could have directed that the Building be evaluated by Engineers to determine if it was possible to save the building while vacating the encroachment or to determine if a small underpass/path could be built to adjust for the lost route/service lane (a service lane which was NEVER used by anyone, by the way, ever Since access to Shahrah-e-Faisal was blocked from SMCHS.

And I am NOT against demolition, I am against the process which was adopted in which the residents were not compensated (as per market value today) atleast with sufficient time to buy alternative residence and relocate with families. Dislocation/Eviction is no joke!! And no one responsible was punished.

Besides, you cannot just 1 day wake up and start demolition of practices, even evil practices of encroachment, which have been there for 30-40 years and call it justice. The reason being that those who are now occupying those encroached lands are general, common civilians who have paid hard earned money to buy the properties which have been constructed and leased by all official Government departments whereas the encroachers are all enjoying the money they have made. You want to start, then start with punishing the encroachers and their accomplices in Government departments, not the common man!

.
ALL illegally constructed buildings should be demolished and the builders/govt officials involved prosecuted. People who have subequently bought the property and can evidence they have done the required legal checks, should be compensated by the provincial government.

@Imran Khan do you trade in property in Pakistan? Is there a procedure people have to follow to check the land and conditions before they can buy the property? In the UK we have an open register which tells you who owns the land, who has any interest in it (banks etc) and any conditions applied on the property/plot. Before a bank will give you any money to loan it is required to hire a lawyer to have checks done on the land.

.
No it can’t. The city can’t be allowed to suffer. As for only demolishing that part that’s on the road, it’s not a lego brick building. The structural integrity will be lost.
that is simplistic thinking. city cant be allowed to suffer? what is the root cause here? I will tell you: greed of officials. resolve that, and that half of your worries are gone.
