Courage and wickedness are closely related. There may be exceptions but the ‘average courage quotient’ of any community is roughly proportional to ‘average wickedness quotient’. If you are courageous, either wickedness is rampant in your race or you yourself are wicked. For instance, militaries of India, Pakistan, Slavic countries etc. are genuinely valiant but the below listed problems are more prevalent in their societies. Australia is a country of deported criminals. Their military is one of the bravest among Western nations and they display nerves of steel in tough situations of cricket. On occasions like 26/11 terrorist attack or Naxalism, public is all praise for police but what is the public opinion about the same police in general times of peace? The soldiers of most Western countries are cowards but they have less of the below mentioned vices.
Indian army is probably the most fearless community in the country and they work in conditions of great danger. But army is also the most lecherous and corrupt community of the nation. And ego problems run deep in this institution. Yes-men make faster career advancements. If an army personnel shows dissent about strategy or tactics of a senior, that superior may look to ruin the subordinate’s career and life.
Characteristics of courageous societies/communities:
* Corruption
* Lawlessness: Crime occurs in West also but seldom of the kind typical to India, Afghanistan etc. For instance in such countries you cannot travel a distance of 1000s of km without the risks of highway robbery, jungle dacoits, Maoists, Veerappans etc. Probably this is why British Raj built railway network to transport goods in India.
* Horrendous neighbours
* Workplace enmity
* School bullying
* Frequent disruption of peace: factionalism, gang-war type of problems, dirty rivalries between businessmen, traders, industrialists.
* Child lifting
* Excessive parental pressure on kids to perform in academics/sports
* Domestic violence
* Hypocrisy
* Selfishness
* Corporal punishment
* Political instability
* Insensitive administrative machinery exemplified by judicial system due to which over half of inmates in Indian, Pakistani etc jails are innocents
* Old age abuse
* Rudeness
* Indiscipline
* Acid attacks (Acid throwing)
