India and China have a huge mountain range barrier to blunt/slow any attacks. Russia has no such barrier. Wouldn't it be very foolish for Russia to open up vast resource rich portions of Russian territory to conquest by making a current ally into an enemy? Chinese are happily paying Russians huge sums for those resources. Of course from an Indian point of view it is much better that Russians lose something than Indians lose something.
